August Rookie Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for rookie idol groups! The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various rookie idol groups, using big data collected from July 5 to August 5. AHOF, the group formed on the survival show “Universe League,” shot to the top of this month’s list after seeing a whopping 1,779.94 percent increase in their brand reputation index since July—bringing their total score to 1,045,445.  High-ranking phrases in AHOF’s keyword analysis included “The Universe,” “Rendezvous,” and “fan-con,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “lovely,” “youthful,” and “refreshing.” The group’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 83.29 percent positive reactions. TWS took second place with a brand reputation index of 995,992, while KiiiKiii ranked third with a score of 914,670 and ILLIT followed in fourth with a score of 863,314. Finally, BABYMONSTER came in at a close fifth with a brand reputation index of 832,961, marking a 76.84 percent increase in their score since July. Check out the top 30 for this month below! SEVENTEEN Makes Heartfelt Donation To UNESCO

SEVENTEEN has donated $250,000 to UNESCO in honor of International Youth Day! On August 13, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that the group made the donation on August 12, using proceeds from the “JOOPITER Presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN” charity auction. SEVENTEEN said, “Since our debut, we have grown by capturing the diverse moments of youth through music that reflects our sincere experiences and emotions, making the meaning of International Youth Day especially significant to us.” They added, “We send our support to all young people around the world who are still pursuing their dreams.” In 2023, SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop act invited to speak and perform at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Last year, they were named UNESCO’s first Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth, and they donated $1 million to support programs that foster creativity among young people worldwide.

ZEROBASEONE In Talks To Extend Contracts + Agency Briefly Comments

ZEROBASEONE is in talks to continue together as a group. On August 12, industry representatives reported that some ZEROBASEONE members and agencies have officially begun discussions to extend their contracts. A project group created through the survival show “BOYS PLANET,” ZEROBASEONE was originally scheduled to disband in January 2026. In response to the reports, the group’s agency WAKEONE commented on August 12, “We highly value ZEROBASEONE’s potential and possibility for growth,” and added, “According, we have continuously been discussing with each member’s agency since the beginning of this year regarding the possibility of extending the project group activity period.” ZEROBASEONE is currently gearing up to release their first full album “NEVER SAY NEVER” on September 1 and will also kick off their world tour “HERE&NOW” on October 3. Billboard has published its World Albums chart for the week ending on August 9! TXT topped this week’s chart with their new album “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER,” which shot to No. 1 following its delayed physical release in the United States. “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER” also debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, making TXT the K-pop artist with the most top 5 entries in the history of the chart. BTS’s live album “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE” took No. 2 in its second week on the World Albums chart, in addition to remaining on the Billboard 200 at No. 125. Meanwhile, BTS’s 2022 anthology album “Proof” held steady at No. 8 in its 164th week on the World Albums chart, with Jimin’s solo album “MUSE” maintaining its position at No. 15 (in its 54th week) and Jin’s solo mini album “Echo” following at No. 19 (in its 11th week). ATEEZ’s “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3” stayed strong at No. 3 in its seventh week on the World Albums chart, and it also spent a fifth week on the Billboard 200 at No. 187. ENHYPEN’s “DESIRE : UNLEASH” ranked No. 4 in its ninth week on the chart, while their previous album “ROMANCE : UNTOLD” held onto its spot at No. 18 in its 55th week. Meanwhile, ILLIT’s latest mini album “bomb” climbed back up to No. 5 in its sixth week on the chart. Stray Kids once again landed a total of four albums on the World Albums chart this week.
