August Rookie Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced
The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for rookie idol groups! The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various rookie idol groups, using big data collected from July 5 to August 5. AHOF, the group formed on the survival show “Universe League,” shot to the top of this month’s list after seeing a whopping 1,779.94 percent increase in their brand reputation index since July—bringing their total score to 1,045,445. High-ranking phrases in AHOF’s keyword analysis included “The Universe,” “Rendezvous,” and “fan-con,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “lovely,” “youthful,” and “refreshing.” The group’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 83.29 percent positive reactions. TWS took second place with a brand reputation index of 995,992, while KiiiKiii ranked third with a score of 914,670 and ILLIT followed in fourth with a score of 863,314. SEVENTEEN Makes Heartfelt Donation To UNESCO
SEVENTEEN has donated $250,000 to UNESCO in honor of International Youth Day! On August 13, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that the group made the donation on August 12, using proceeds from the “JOOPITER Presents: sacai x SEVENTEEN” charity auction. SEVENTEEN said, “Since our debut, we have grown by capturing the diverse moments of youth through music that reflects our sincere experiences and emotions, making the meaning of International Youth Day especially significant to us.” They added, “We send our support to all young people around the world who are still pursuing their dreams.” In 2023, SEVENTEEN became the first K-pop act invited to speak and perform at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Last year, they were named UNESCO’s first Goodwill Ambassadors for Youth, and they donated $1 million to support programs that foster creativity among young people worldwide.

Japanese agency SOVA has apologized for using a name and logo similar to EVERGLOW’s. Earlier on August 10, allegations were brought up online regarding similarities in the group name as well as the logo design between EVERGLOW and a new Japanese girl group named everglow. Stray Kids’ Changbin Makes Heartfelt Donation On His Birthday
Stray Kids’ Changbin celebrated his birthday by giving back in a meaningful way! In honor of his birthday, Changbin donated 100 million won (approximately $71,970) to Samsung Medical Center in Seoul. The donation will help cover surgery and treatment costs as well as programs that support the psychological well-being of vulnerable children and adolescents who cannot afford care due to financial hardship. Changbin said in a statement released by his agency, “I am deeply grateful to be able to return the love of my fans on my birthday and to offer a small ray of hope to children,” and added, “I hope my gift can help the children recover and grow up healthy.” An official from Samsung Medical Center said, “Changbin’s warm heart and his donation of 100 million won will be a great source of strength for the young patients and their families. We will ensure the donation is used carefully for the children’s treatment and recovery.” Changbin has consistently supported charitable causes, using his influence to make a positive impact. In 2025, he and fellow Stray Kids members donated to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association and World Vision to aid wildfire recovery in South and North Gyeongsang. In 2023, he contributed to Turkey-Syria earthquake relief and was appointed to The Promise’s Honors Club.

BLACKPINK held onto their spot at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 8,496,216, marking an 0.09 percent increase in their score since July. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “JUMP,” “ninth anniversary,” and “world tour,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “surpass,” “compete,” and “challenge.” BLACKPINK’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.02 percent positive reactions. IVE maintained their position at second place with a brand reputation index of 4,942,720 for August. Red Velvet rose to third place with a brand reputation index of 3,921,111, marking an 8.35 percent increase in their score since last month. The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community indexes of various boy groups, using big data collected from July 9 to August 9. BTS continued their reign at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 8,864,057 for August. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “live album,” “Billboard,” and “concert,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “go on tour,” “record,” and “advertise.” BTS’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 93.51 percent positive reactions. Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN held onto their spot at second place with a brand reputation index of 5,494,252 for the month. SHINee rose to third place with a brand reputation index of 3,753,576, marking a 46.88 percent increase in their score since last month.
