“Reborn Rookie” tells the story of Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the powerful chairman of the leading conglomerate Choi Sung Group. After an accident, he unexpectedly finds himself living an unwanted second life when his soul is swapped into the youthful body of soccer player Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young), forcing him to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.

The newly released highlight video teases the unpredictable life story of 72-year-old Choi Sung Group Chairman Kang Yong Ho, who wakes up inside the body of 27-year-old soccer player Hwang Jun Hyun. Hwang Jun Hyun, a soccer player on the verge of joining the first division team Choi Sung FC, is devastated after being hit by Kang Yong Ho’s speeding car and receiving the crushing diagnosis that his soccer career may be over.

Afterward, Hwang Jun Hyun visits Chairman Kang Yong Ho but becomes furious at Kang Yong Ho’s attitude when he casually offers him a blank check as compensation for the accident. Previously, “The Show” went on hiatus after airing its final episode in November 2025.

On May 27, the program confirmed that it will officially return on June 2 at 6 p.m. KST, marking its comeback seven months after going off the air.

First launched in 2011, “The Show” has remained one of South Korea’s representative cable music programs for nearly 14 years.

The show was previously broadcast on SBS funE and produced by SBS Medianet. However, production was halted after SBS Medianet withdrew from the entertainment business last year.

The revamped version of the program will now air on SBS LIFE, with production jointly handled by SBS LIFE and entertainment-tech startup BIGC.

After crossing paths on a remote island, they embark on a heartwarming journey of saving lives and learning about love as they get to know the island’s residents.

The newly released stills depict the encounter between Do Ji Eui and Yook Ha Ri, who plays a key role in his nightmarish island assignment. Because he has trauma related to the sea and islands, being on a boat feels like hell to him. In another, Director Park (Lee Kwang Soo) holds a weapon, suggesting a brutal final clash between the two that will continue until the end.

In particular, Hee Joo’s survival instinct, after giving up everything to protect the gold bars, collides head-on with Director Park’s frenzied obsession with monopolizing them, heightening the tension.

“The Roundup” has officially begun filming its fifth installment!

On May 27, it was revealed that filming officially began on May 24 and that the cast lineup has been confirmed.

“The Roundup” series is Korea’s longest-running action franchise centered on detective Ma Seok Do (Ma Dong Seok) as he takes down various criminal organizations. “The Roundup 5” follows Ma Seok Do as he takes on Lee Kang Tae, the mastermind behind the most dangerous criminal operation yet.

Ma Seok Do, now promoted to team leader of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit, continues fighting on the front lines with determination, facing increasingly evolved crimes in an extreme showdown. Ma Dong Seok also took part in the screenplay and production.

Kim Jae Yeong plays villain Lee Kang Tae, a character willing to do anything to achieve his goals.

Seo Hyun Woo plays Go Young Min, a detective in Major Crimes Investigation Unit Team 1 who co-leads the team with Ma Seok Do. Lee Hak Joo appears as Han Sang Gu, an aide to Lee Kang Tae.

Baek Hyun Jin joins as Kim Min Chul, the head of the Major Crimes Investigation Unit, while Kim Min Ho rounds out the cast as Buldak.

Director Heo Myeong Haeng, who previously handled the series’ action choreography and directed the fourth installment, returns to direct again.

Hello, this is GOLDMEDALIST.

We would like to provide the following statement regarding the multiple complaints and lawsuits filed by Kim Soo Hyun and our company against Kim Se Eui of HoverLab (Garosero Research Institute).

According to the results of the investigation, the various allegations and evidence raised by HoverLab against Kim Soo Hyun were found to be false. In particular, the KakaoTalk conversations revealed during the press conference were determined to have been fabricated and altered from conversations involving a third party unrelated to Kim Soo Hyun, while the deceased’s voice recordings were also confirmed to be manipulated materials generated using AI technology.

As a result, due to the seriousness of the charges—including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation through the dissemination of false information), violations of the Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking, violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of illegally filmed materials and coercion involving such materials), and threats—the court has issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Eui.

We sincerely thank the investigative authorities for their efforts in uncovering the truth based on objective evidence.

At a press conference one year ago, Kim Soo Hyun stated: “I won’t ask you to believe me. I will make sure to prove it.”

The past year for Kim Soo Hyun has been devoted solely to keeping that promise. At last, through lawful procedures and a thorough investigation, the truth has been proven.

On May 26, the series finale of “The Scarecrow” achieved the second highest ratings of any drama in ENA history, bested only by the award-winning 2022 series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”

According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of “The Scarecrow” took first place in its time slot across all channels (including public broadcast networks) with an average nationwide rating of 8.1 percent—marking a new all-time high for the hit drama.

Meanwhile, tvN’s “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” wrapped up the first half of its run on an average nationwide rating of 7.3 percent.

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for rising singers!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of various rising singers’ media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness indexes, using big data collected from April 27 to May 27.

CORTIS shot to the top of this month’s list after seeing a whopping 328.60 percent increase in their brand reputation index since April, bringing their total score to 6,065,405.

Trot singer Kim Yong Bin held onto his spot at second place with a brand reputation index of 3,917,846, marking a 34.10 percent increase in his score since last month.

HANRORO took third place with a brand reputation index of 3,300,462, marking a 9.65 percent rise in her score since April.

BIBI jumped to fourth place with a brand reputation index of 3,122,855, marking an impressive 112.92 percent increase in her score.

Finally, ENHYPEN came in at a close fifth with a brand reputation index of 3,099,769, marking a 22.56 percent rise in their score since April.

JTBC’s “Reborn Rookie” has shared a sneak peek of its upcoming first episode!

“Reborn Rookie” tells the story of Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the powerful chairman of leading conglomerate Choi Sung Group. After an accident, he unexpectedly finds himself living an unwanted second life when his soul is swapped into the youthful body of soccer player Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young), forcing him to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.

The newly released preview of the drama’s premiere begins by introducing Hwang Jun Hyun, a promising soccer player who is about to make it big. With success right around the corner, Hwang Jun Hyun happily tells his grandmother during a video call that all her suffering is over. However, his dreams of a better life for his grandmother are immediately dashed when he unexpectedly gets hit by a car.

Believing Kang Yong Ho to be responsible for the accident that injured him, Hwang Jun Hyun tearfully declares, “Because of you, my soccer career is over.” With the chairman being accused of a hit-and-run, protesters swarm the Choi Sung Group building and label Kang Yong Ho a criminal.

While Kang Yong Ho’s youngest daughter Kang Bang Geul (Lee Ju Myoung) asks disbelievingly whether it’s true that her father is responsible for the hit-and-run, his eldest daughter Kang Jae Gyeong (Jeon Hye Jin) and eldest son Kang Jae Seong (Jin Goo) hold a press conference together with Hwang Jun Hyun. Kang Jae Seong points out that all of the evidence points to their father being the culprit, while the ruthless Kang Jae Gyeong remarks, “This is our only opportunity to get our father to step down through legal means.”

After learning what they’re up to, an infuriated Kang Yong Ho yells at his children, “How dare you try to frame your father as a criminal?” He then tosses Hwang Jun Hyun a blank check and arrogantly offers, “If you want to write 10 billion won [approximately $6.63 million], write 10 billion won. I myself am curious to see how much you want.” Hwang Jun Hyun retorts, “And what if I refuse? What if I insist on fighting until the end and destroying Choi Sung? What will you do then?”

However, just as the conflict between the two men seems to be reaching its climax, things take a supernatural turn when an accidental headbutt leads to them swapping souls. After waking up in the young Hwang Jun Hyun’s body, Kang Yong Ho lets out a scream of horror being before cornered by his own daughter, who restrains him and demands, “Who are you?” Unable to voice his thoughts out loud, he silently thinks to himself, “I’m your father!”

Last week, the KQ Entertainment boy group made their comeback with the new mini album “ROUTE ZERO : The ORA” and its hard-hitting title track “OKay” on May 19.

Hanteo Chart has now reported that xikers achieved their highest first-week sales yet with the mini album. In the first week of its release (May 19 to May 25), “ROUTE ZERO : The ORA” sold a total of 364,152 copies, breaking xikers’ previous first-week sales record of 327,734 (set by their last mini album “HOUSE OF TRICKY : WRECKING THE HOUSE” in 2025).

MBC’s “Hidden Eye” has apologized for mistakenly using Stray Kids’ Hyunjin’s photo during a past broadcast.

Back in December of last year, the true-crime commentary show mistakenly used a baby photo of Hyunjin instead of a childhood photo of a murder victim.

During a segment introducing a female murder victim who was killed in 2024 at the age of 16, “Hidden Eye” featured photos of the victim during her lifetime—and mistakenly inserted a photo of Hyunjin as a baby.

This error was belatedly discovered by a fan months after the broadcast, leading to fans demanding a correction from the “Hidden Eye” production team.

The show’s production team subsequently responded by apologizing to Hyunjin, fans, and viewers, explaining that they had found the baby photo of Hyunjin on the victim’s phone and mistaken it for a photo of the victim.

The “Hidden Eye” production team stated, “While producing the episode, we used photos saved on the phone that was used by the victim while she was still alive. During this process, we misidentified a childhood photo of Stray Kids’ Hyunjin as a photo of the victim and mistakenly used it.”

“As soon as we learned the truth, we set the episode and YouTube clip in question to private,” they continued. “We also plan to either edit [the episode] or make it private on replay services, including OTT platforms, as soon as possible.”

The production team added, “We will be even more rigorous in our verification and review of materials in the future, and we will take extra caution to ensure that this kind of incident does not reoccur.”
