“Cabbage Your Life” follows the chaotic story of Sung Tae Hoon’s (Park Sung Woong) city family, who suddenly find themselves living in Yeonriri village as they struggle to return to Seoul.

“Fifties Professionals” is an action-comedy about three seemingly ordinary but secretly dangerous middle-aged men who are brought back into action by destiny. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.

The teaser opens by showing the three characters’ past glory. Jung Ho Myung (Shin Ha Kyun) was an elite agent trained by the National Intelligence Service. Bong Je Soon (Oh Jung Se) built a reputation for his quick and agile skills. Kang Beom Ryong (Heo Sung Tae) once controlled entire criminal groups using only his fists. Their legendary days quickly flash by. In the present, however, all three live very different lives.

Jung Ho Myung now works as a head chef at a Chinese restaurant and has waited 10 years for a return. Moreover, after an unexpected menopause diagnosis, he reacts with anger and a sense of emptiness. “Who do you think wants to live like this?” he says, reflecting years of disappointment.

Meanwhile, Bong Je Soon is shown living without his memories, completely cut off from his past. Kang Beom Ryong runs a convenience store on Yeongseondo Island, far from his former power and status. All three are left as “washed-up professionals,” a situation that brings both humor and sadness.

However, the tone shifts as Jung Ho Myung says, “Let’s try something before more time passes,” and the three begin to move again. On April 23, the film’s investment company said “Cherry Boy” has finalized its casting of Lee Jae In, Kim Mu Jun, and Jang Da A and will begin filming on April 24.

“Cherry Boy” tells the story of a high school girl in rural Gangwon Province who has never been in a relationship and secretly writes mature fiction to save money for college in Seoul. She meets a prim, fair-skinned male transfer student from Seoul and draws inspiration from him.

Lee Jae In plays Ok Hee, a high school student who writes mature fiction with the goal of entering a creative writing program, portraying a youthful character who is both fresh and distinctive.

Kim Mu Jun plays Ri Hwan, a male student who transfers from Seoul in the aftermath of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) crisis and inspires Ok Hee. Through this film, he makes his official big-screen debut.

Jang Da A plays Jung Sook, Ok Hee’s best friend who dreams of becoming a celebrity because of her striking looks. She brings lively charm to the story and adds energy to the film.

In addition, Park Myung Hoon, Kang Mal Geum, Jeon Seok Ho, and Yura also appear, completing the ensemble cast.

Ahead of the first day of filming, Lee Jae In, who completed the script reading, said, “From the beginning, the session was cheerful and enjoyable, so I’m excited that this will become a fun project. I will greet audiences with a good production.”

Kim Rae Won plays the role of Hwang Jin Ho, the acting manager of the popular baseball team “Stars,” which is on the verge of being eliminated from postseason contention. A former catcher turned battery coach, Hwang Jin Ho is an ill-fated baseball figure who spent most of his playing days as a backup. While he is better regarded as a coach, he has lived as an outsider within the exclusionary atmosphere of the Stars, which prioritizes “pure-blooded” insiders. He jumps into a once-in-a-lifetime whirlwind by accepting the position of acting manager, which is akin to a “poisoned chalice.”

She awakens in the body of 16-year-old Hae Soo (IU), living in the household of her cousin’s husband, the 8th Prince Wang Wook (Kang Ha Neul), where she meets the ostracized 4th Prince Wang So (Lee Joon Gi). Despite her efforts to avoid palace politics, she inevitably becomes entangled in them as multiple princes fall in love with her.

The grand princes, despite their royal status and historical weight, are still ultimately children, while the Queen, who navigates intense court politics, is also a mother determined to do what is best for her sons. In the end, it is this balance of humor, heart, and emotional depth that makes the story so compelling.

“Mr. Queen”

Adapted from Xian Cheng’s novel, “Mr. Queen” is one of the most well-known transmigration K-dramas to date. The story follows Jang Bong Hwan (Choi Jin Hyuk), a Korean chef, who, after an accident, finds himself transported to the Joseon era in the body of Queen Kim So Yong (Shin Hae Sun). He soon realizes that Queen Kim So Yong’s husband, King Cheol Jong (Kang Jung Hyun), is merely a figurehead, with real power held by his mother-in-law, Queen Sun Won (Bae Jong Ok), and Kim Jwa Geun (Kim Tae Woo). This leads Jang Bong Hwan to assist the king in gaining a stronger position within palace politics.

Unfortunately, “Mr. Queen” is not for the faint of heart, as it will make you laugh until you can’t breathe, and it might just be the funniest K-drama on this list. Plus, the chemistry between the Prince and the Chef is intense enough to make the audience wonder, “Why is this not a BL?” Ultimately, it’s a wildly entertaining blend of comedy, chaos, and unexpected emotional depth.

“The Red Sleeve”

Based on Kang Mi Kang’s novel which is literally translated to “Red Cuffs on the Sleeves,” “The Red Sleeve” is a historical romance drama set in 18th-century Korea. The drama follows Crown Prince Yi San (Lee Jun Ho), who is haunted by the murder of his father and is next in line to inherit the throne from his cruel grandfather. He meets Sung Deok Im (Lee Se Young), an intelligent court lady with whom he falls in love. Due to royal constraints, he cannot marry her but instead asks her to become his concubine. As their relationship deepens, Deok Im becomes aware of her potential to influence the kingdom for the better amid the palace’s political tensions.

This K-drama gets its name from the red cuff that specific court ladies had to wear in the Joseon era, which signified that the woman belonged to the King. While, without historical context, the idea of being “only for the king” might sound like a fantasy, the reality was far from it, and “The Red Sleeve” shows exactly why. Seong Deok Im, until the very end, embodies how patriarchy constrained women and how she was still able to survive and assert her agency within those limits.

“The Crowned Clown”

A remake of the Mark Twain-inspired K-film “Masquerade,” which itself draws from “The Prince and the Pauper,” “The Crowned Clown” is a historical drama set in the Joseon Dynasty. It follows King Lee Hun and his doppelgänger, a clown named Ha Sun, both played by Yeo Jin Goo. Amid increasing political unrest and repeated assassination attempts, a plan is devised to protect the king by replacing him with Ha Sun, an orphan raised in a troupe of clowns. However, while navigating dangerous palace politics, the clown-turned-king falls in love with Queen Yoo So Woon (Lee Se Young), complicating his already precarious situation.

As “The Crowned Clown” is based on one of the most adapted pieces of writing of all time, the script is naturally compelling and tightly constructed. But what truly elevates the drama beyond its writing is the acting. Yeo Jin Goo beautifully portrays both the King and the Clown, delivering such an incredible performance that at moments the audience is left wondering if there are actually two Yeo Jin Goos on set.

Adapted from Lee So Young’s manhwa, “The King’s Affection” is a historical cross-dressing romance set in the Joseon Dynasty. Due to superstition, Dam I is ordered to be killed at birth, but her mother secretly saves her and sends her away. Years later, Dam I returns to the palace as a maid. After her brother’s death, her mother convinces her to assume his identity as crown prince. As she navigates palace politics while hiding her true identity, she again develops feelings for her tutor, Jung Ji Un (Rowoon), who happened to be her childhood love.

“The King’s Affection” beautifully captures the ache of yearning, as the tutor and the princess, who was once disguised as the king, share a childhood bond, making their reunion painful due to her inability to reveal her true identity. It also explores the male lead’s internal struggle with his sexuality, adding emotional depth to their forbidden connection. But at its core, the story is about love and perseverance in the face of duty.

“Moon River”

Set in the Joseon Dynasty, “Moon River” tells the story of a crown prince (Kang Tae Oh) who has lost his smile and a merchant (Kim Se Jeong) who has lost her memories. After the death of his wife, the crown princess, Prince Yi Gang becomes consumed by thoughts of revenge. When he encounters a saddle-carrying merchant named Dal I, who looks exactly like his late wife, an unexpected event occurs: they swap souls. Now trapped in each other’s bodies, Dal I must navigate life as a prince, while Yi Gang, in her body, begins plotting revenge.

Spoiler alert: Dal I is the late Queen, who, while everyone in the kingdom believes is dead, actually survived but lost her memory. The audience is made aware of this fact at the very beginning, revealing the twist upfront, after which the series focuses on yearning, romance, and revenge. This structure makes the story more than just a twist, turning it into a slow, emotional exploration of love and loss.

On April 23, upcoming drama “The WONDERfools” unveiled a new character poster and teaser ahead of its premiere.

“The WONDERfools” is a superpower comic action set in 1999, a time when apocalyptic beliefs were rampant. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight against villains threatening the peace of Haeseong city.

The newly released character poster highlights each of the different superpowers the members of Team WONDERfools possess. Using afterimages over two overlapped cards, Eun Chae Ni (Park Eun Bin) is shown to have the ability of teleportation. Lee Woon Jung (Cha Eun Woo) highlights his strength with his ability to use telekinesis. Meanwhile, Son Kyung Hoon (Choi Dae Hoon) is like a “useless flypaper” as he sticks comically to the screen, and Kang Robin (Im Seong Jae) looks shocked as he tears through the wall with his fist as a “nuisance maker” with great power, raising anticipation for how the team will utilize their abilities.

The teaser released along with the poster begins with Chae Ni, Kyung Hoon, and Robin peeling onions on the street as Woon Jung keeps his distance. Although Woon Jung pretends to not know the other three, the rest are lost in their own fun conversation filled with laughter.

However, as the four suddenly gain superpowers, chaos ensues from Chae Ni teleporting to random places every other moment to Kyung Hoon being unable to let go of a fridge and Robin making a hole in the wall by simply throwing a canned drink, raising anticipation for how the unlikely crew of “lovable misfits” will adjust to their superpowers.

“Yumi’s Cells 3” star Kim Jae Won may star in a new drama alongside Park Eun Bin!

On April 23, a media outlet reported that Kim Jae Won has been offered to play the male lead in the new drama “The Palace Is Home to Dog Flowers” (literal title).

In response to the report, Kim Jae Won’s agency Mystic Story shared, “He is currently reviewing the offer to star in ‘The Palace Is Home to Dog Flowers.'”

“The Palace Is Home to Dog Flowers” is a drama adaptation of a popular historical romance web novel by writer Yoon Tae Roo. Set in the imperial court of a fictional country called Eun, it tells the romance between Consort Hyeon Gae Ri—who possesses stunning beauty but is violent and intensely jealous, earning her the nickname “dog flower”—and Emperor Eon, a handsome yet cool-headed man.

Actress Park Eun Bin is in talks to play the female lead Consort Hyeon Gae Ri, while Kim Jae Won has reportedly been offered the role of Emperor Eon.

Kim Jae Won is currently starring as PD Shin Soon Rok in “Yumi’s Cells 3.”

Lee Chae Min recently joined Harper’s BAZAAR Korea for a pictorial and interview!

In the interview following his photo shoot, the rising actor shared candid thoughts about his career and acting roles. When asked what kinds of roles he is drawn to, he said, “They fall into two categories. There are projects I want to do because I can deeply relate to them or think they’d be fun, and there are projects I’m not entirely sure about but want to challenge myself with in order to discover a new side of me. In between taking on roles I can relate to, I also occasionally challenge myself with historical dramas or villain roles, which I think has made my filmography a bit diverse.”

When asked if there was a project that had made him nervous, he replied, “’Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’ was one where I clenched my teeth and told myself to just go for it. I was very happy and grateful, but honestly, the thought at the forefront of my mind was ‘Will I really be able to pull this off?’ The keyword ‘tyrant’ worried me. I’m not someone who usually expresses anger openly or raises my voice, so I wasn’t sure if I could handle the role of a high-intensity tyrant. In the beginning, I approached the acting almost like a task I had to carry out, but with the help of those around me and the director, I was able to see it through to the end.”

On how his strong competitive spirit has influenced him, Lee Chae Min remarked, “It has never allowed me to become complacent. There are so many people around me who can influence me. Rather than trying to follow their lives, I think part of my competitiveness comes from drawing motivation from them. Thanks to that, I’ve been able to keep working hard up until now.”

Mystic Story has canceled the release of LUCY’s official light stick due to backlash from fans.

On April 22, LUCY announced that they would be releasing their first official light stick and unveiled a glimpse of the design.

As the band’s fandom name is “Walwal” (a Korean onomatopoeia for the sound of a dog barking), the light stick was designed to look like a dog bone. Fans also noticed that it featured two small rings at the top, seemingly so that it could be worn around the neck as a necklace.

After many fans responded negatively to the design of the light stick, with some having already been unhappy with the fandom name, Mystic Story announced that same night that they had decided to cancel the release.

The agency’s full statement and apology is as follows:

Hello. This is Mystic Story.

We are making an announcement regarding the official light stick that was revealed today. We humbly and seriously accepted the many opinions that you sent us through various channels, and after an internal reconsideration of the matter in question, we have decided to cancel the release.

We sincerely apologize for the fact that, through this process, we wound up disconcerting the people who are giving [LUCY] so much support. Once again, we deeply apologize for having caused discomfort, and we will work even harder so that the love and expectations you give us will not be in vain.

MODYSSEY’s Hengyu was unable to join his bandmates for today’s live broadcast of “Show Champion.”

On April 22, ONECEAD announced that after the pre-recording for “Show Champion” earlier that day, Hengyu had visited the hospital “due to a sudden decline in his condition.” There, he was “advised by medical staff that he requires sufficient rest.”

The agency went on to explain that as a result, Hengyu would be unable to participate in the music show’s live broadcast later that day.

On April 22, SBS confirmed that its new program “Sunim Sonim Soul Trip in India”—“sunim” meaning a Buddhist monk and “sonim” meaning a guest—is set to premiere in May.

The show will spotlight part of Venerable Pomnyun Sunim’s 34-year pilgrimage journey to sacred sites across India. Widely known as “the nation’s mentor” and one of Korea’s most respected Buddhist figures, he steps into his first-ever road variety show, traveling with guests as they ride rickshaws, share street food, and embrace unexpected moments. Through the journey, he reveals a more candid, human side—at one point even remarking, “Variety shows are harder than spiritual practice.”

Joining him on the trip are Noh Hong Chul, Lee Sang Yoon, and Lee Joo Bin—who even canceled a planned trip to New York to join the show—alongside Lee Ki Taek and the youngest member ALLDAY PROJECT’s Woochan.

The film has been officially invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, earning critical acclaim prior to its premiere.

The newly released posters highlight each character’s unique personality against a towering wall of infected people twisted together. The infected reach out as if they could attack at any moment, while the six distinct characters stand at the center.

First, Kwon Se Jung (Jun Ji Hyun) stands confidently before the infected, showing her strength and determination as a leader guiding survivors to safety.

In contrast, Seo Young Cheol (Koo Kyo Hwan), seen in handcuffs with a suggestive facial expression, teases his identity as the person who triggered the outbreak based on his own beliefs.
