A bewitchingly beautiful sorcerer named He Si Mu (Dilraba Dilmurat) is the sovereign of the spirit world. The 400-year-old Spirit Lord walks the earth to guide mortals to the spirit world at night and guide the spirts back to their realm during the day. She encounters a dashing young general named Duan Xu (Arthur Chen) on one of her many earthly prowls and is intrigued. But more than by him, it is the sword of deliverance that he carries that catches her interest.

She plans her moves, getting close to him. But it’s trickier than she anticipated, since Duan Xu has several tricks up his sleeve. What starts off as a playful push and pull escalates into something deeper and meaningful. “Love Beyond the Grave” is not just a supernatural fantasy drama but one with a strong emotional core.

We are introduced to He Si Mu, the enchanting wandering Spirit Lord. She has been anointed as the current Sovereign, given her skills as a spirit which have been honed over years of cultivation.

Dressed in her bright robes, she confesses that her world is devoid of color, and she also lacks the five senses, though seeing her confidence, you would think otherwise. She loves to roam the mortal world, especially Liangzhou. There is a prophecy that the master of the Deliverance Sword is a spell bearer who will help bring her senses back. It has been over three hundred years, and she has yet to meet this man.

On one of her many jaunts, as she walks down the wartorn interiors of the city, an injured man asks her to save his son. Making her way toward the pile of bodies, she notices the Commander of the Tabai Army, the young general Duan Xu, walk in.

Si Mu, who wears a perpetual nonchalant expression, is taken aback for once. She notices the Sword of Deliverance strapped to Duan Xu’s waist, the very sword that had belonged to her aunt centuries ago. Curious about Duan Xu and equally about him being its master, she transforms into her mortal body, taking the identity of He Xiao Xiao.

She faints and asks Duan Xu to help save her brother, the injured man’s son, Chen Ying. Duan Xu asks his men to escort her and Chen Ying to their estate.

Duan Xu’s people are suspicious of her, regarding both her and Chen Ying as spies. On the other hand, Si Mu is equally wary of Duan Xu, convinced he is not what he claims to be. But during an assassination attempt on him, she realizes that he is indeed the sword’s master and the chosen one.

She later learns from her assistant, who is investigating Duan Xu for her, that he comes from a scholarly family and had relatives in the royalty but was impeached. But now that he is a general, Si Mu concludes that he is bound to die sooner or later and that she will eventually gain access to the sword.

One day, while observing him incognito, she slips from her Spirit Lantern, which trembles in the presence of the sword, causing her to fall from her vantage point. Duan Xu sees her, and it is clear he knows she is not who she pretends to be.

Duan Xu, on the other hand, is impressed with her knack for predicting the weather, a skill that proves to be useful in battle, and he asks her to stay by his side. He also asks his people to investigate her, and though they return empty handed, he remarks with a smile that she is rather interesting.

When one of his commandants, who is investigating her, asks her to divulge the truth as to why she keeps shadowing him, she answers with a straight face that she loves him. Duan Xu overhears and smiles, well aware she is playing games.

In one scene, when Si Mu enters his room and observes his scarred body, her curiosity deepens. Observing him closely, she is convinced Duan Xu is not who he claims to be: there is nothing about him that feels rooted in the region he supposedly belongs to. Her hunch is further confirmed when her assistant reports that Duan Xu was ambushed in battle at the age of 19, leading her to believe he may not be the same person but someone who has been replaced.

It is amusing how, in her thoughts, she refers to him as “foxy,” recognizing that he is far more than he appears and admiring his sharp reflexes.

Duan Xu, meanwhile, is well aware that she lacks the five senses and is able to see her even when she is invisible. The two are constantly testing each other, and though the outcomes are sometimes grim, they are often laced with humor.

Since she knows he is her spell breaker and no longer wishes for his death, she wants to protect him. She offers him a deal: she will grant his wishes in return for helping her regain her senses. But Duan Xu refuses, saying he never makes wishes. Si Mu needs to craft another plan, but it seems he knows very well what her designs are.

Who are these two individuals, caught in such a strange dance of fates?

Dilraba Dilmurat presents Si Mu as playful and elusive, carrying an almost childlike smile that suggests very little truly moves her. There is an ease and confidence to her, a self assuredness that makes the character feel both untouchable and quietly intriguing.

Arthur Chen, on the other hand, is every bit the dashing general—composed, restrained, and quietly perceptive. He brings a calm intensity to Duan Xu, revealing more through stillness than overt expression.

Together, the two share an understated yet compelling chemistry, one that simmers beneath their constant probing and distrust.

What also stands out also is the sheer production value. The costumes, in particular, are stunning, rich in detail and texture, adding to the visual grandeur of the world.

Upcoming SBS drama “My Royal Nemesis” has dropped its first teaser!

“My Royal Nemesis” is a romantic comedy starring Lim Ji Yeon as Shin Seo Ri, a struggling actress who is suddenly possessed by the spirit of Kang Dan Shim, a notorious villainess from the Joseon era. Heo Nam Jun will star as Cha Se Gye, a ruthless chaebol heir who is known as a “monster created by capitalism.”

The teaser shows Kang Dan Shim, who dies after being forced to drink poison during the Joseon era, time-slipping into the 21st century as the unknown actress Shin Seo Ri. Confused by the unfamiliar world, Seo Ri says, “Maybe it’d be better to just die—yeah, right,” shifting the tone as she regains her composure.

She then shows her determination to survive, saying, “In this life, I’ll live with all my might.” She reads newspapers, sprints at full speed, and even performs a flip kick, highlighting her adjustment to life in the 21st century.

Her relationship with Cha Se Gye also stands out. Seo Ri declares, “I’ll use you as my spear and shield,” as she jumps into his arms and even slaps his cheek when he loses consciousness. In response, Se Gye says, “What a completely ridiculous woman,” hinting at their dynamic.

On April 16, KBS2’s upcoming drama “Sleeping Doctor” (literal title) confirmed that Kim Sung Cheol will be starring in the drama alongside Jin Ki Joo.

“Sleeping Doctor” is a romantic comedy that follows Hong Gyeong (Jin Ki Joo), a rookie self-employed clinic owner, and Nam Ji Oh (Kim Sung Cheol), a jack-of-all-trades pay doctor, as their lives unfold at a struggling private psychiatric clinic.

Kim Sung Cheol will be taking on the role of pay doctor Nam Ji Oh, who is a member of Healer Mental Health Clinic. Nam Ji Oh has medical knowledge in all fields, and he fights to revive the struggling clinic. Although he disagrees with Hong Gyeong on treatment methods and running the hospital, he begins to empathize with her and becomes drawn to her.

Having impressed in numerous projects including “Our Beloved Summer,” “Do You Like Brahms?” “Hellbound 2,” “Boyfriend on Demand,” and more, Kim Sung Cheol is already raising anticipation for his next acting transformation.

Netflix has confirmed production of its new series “The Facade of Love”!

A new project by director Mo Wan Il who helmed “The World of the Married,” “The Facade of Love” tells the story of how the lives of four individuals are completely shaken after a man and a woman far from home spend an unforgettable night together in an unfamiliar place.

The core narrative focuses on the process of cracks forming in their relationships as Ji Hun and Hu Kyung, who met by chance, find themselves unable to stop being drawn to each other even after returning to Korea.

Lee Dong Wook will play the role of Ji Hun, a man experiencing a rift between reason and emotion, promising a deep, nuanced performance.

Jeon So Nee will take on the role of Hu Kyung, a character with a mysterious charm who anchors the center of the story.

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, community awareness, and viewership indexes of 20 popular dramas, using big data collected from March 14 to April 14.

“Phantom Lawyer” topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 3,980,372. High-ranking phrases in the drama’s keyword analysis included “Esom,” “Yoo Yeon Seok,” and “tears,” while its highest-ranking related terms included “passionate acting,” “condemn,” and “possessed.” The show’s positivity-negativity analysis revealed a score of 91.50 percent positive reactions.

“Climax” came in at a close second for April with a brand reputation index of 3,628,812, while “Recipe for Love” followed in third with a score of 3,493,214.

“Siren’s Kiss” took fourth place with a brand reputation index of 3,150,688, and “Our Happy Days” rounded out the top five with a score of 3,150,688.

On April 15, BIGHIT MUSIC announced that according to CORTIS’s album distributors YG PLUS and Universal Records, the rookie boy group’s upcoming mini album “GREENGREEN” had recorded a total of 2,020,224 stock pre-orders as of April 13.

The number of stock pre-orders is the amount of album stock that is produced prior to an album’s release. The figure is the estimated demand calculated using various factors, including how many albums were pre-ordered by fans.

Earlier this month, CORTIS broke the record for the best-selling debut album in K-pop history with their first mini album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES.” According to Circle Chart data, the EP had sold a total of 2,060,963 copies as of April 4, making it only the second debut album ever to sell over 2 million copies (after ZEROBASEONE’s “YOUTH IN THE SHADE”).

With three weeks still left to go before the release of “GREENGREEN” on May 4, it remains to be seen how much higher the mini album’s stock pre-orders will climb.

Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!

In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.

Stray Kids earned a triple million certification this month for selling over 3 million copies of their 2024 mini album “ATE.”

ATEEZ earned two separate certifications for their latest mini album “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.4.” The regular version of the album was certified triple platinum for over 750,000 copies sold, while the POCA version was certified platinum for over 250,000 copies sold.

IVE’s latest album “REVIVE+” was also certified triple platinum for selling over 750,000 copies.

In the previous episode, Jo Eun Ae (Uhm Hyun Kyung) clashed with Go Gyeol (Yoon Jong Hun), who offered her a position as an intern at Kang Soo Construction in place of legal punishment. With that, Jo Eun Ae officially sets her plan in motion to reclaim “Joy.”

Newly released stills show Jo Eun Ae on her first day as an intern at Kang Soo Construction, where she quickly finds herself caught up in a series of chaotic situations. ENA’s upcoming drama “The Scarecrow” has unveiled new stills featuring its supporting cast!

“The Scarecrow” follows a detective investigating a series of murders who is forced into an unlikely partnership with a man he despises. Set between 1988 and 2019, the suspenseful story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.

The stills show characters who appear to have stepped out of Gangseong in 1988 and reflect the mood and emotion of that time. First, the stills show Lee Ki Beom (Song Geon Hee) and Kang Soon Young (Seo Ji Hye) looking at each other with warm, affectionate eyes.

The two are a same-age couple who grew up in the same neighborhood and have promised to marry, but they are unexpectedly pulled into a series of murders and face major hardships. Lee Ki Beom, the younger brother of Lee Ki Hwan (Jung Moon Sung), is a responsible young man who will do anything for his family and loved ones. Kang Soon Young, the younger sister of Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo), is an elementary school teacher with a calm and steady personality.

Another still shows Lee Ki Hwan, a bookstore owner, spending time with longtime hometown friends and former elementary school classmates Kang Tae Joo and Seo Ji Won (Kwak Sun Young) after a long time, looking happier and more comfortable than ever.

In another still, Kang Tae Joo is seen with four Gangseong Police Station officers Kim Man Chun (Baek Hyun Jin), Jang Myung Do (Jeon Jae Hong), Do Hyung Gu (Kim Eun Woo), and Park Dae Ho (Ryu Hae Joon) as they review case logs together. They work both independently and together to catch the true culprit behind the serial killings that have shaken Gangseong.

Squad chief Kim Man Chun is a seasoned officer with depth and experience who delivers a strong and steady presence. With his down-to-earth leadership, he serves as a pillar of support for Kang Tae Joo.

In contrast, Jang Myung Do and Do Hyung Gu are figures who frequently clash with Kang Tae Joo and drive conflict. Their intense and rough presence dominates the atmosphere, portraying corrupt officers who bow to power and rely on violence.

The youngest detective at Gangseong Police Station, Park Dae Ho, is shown in a tense and cautious stance. Though still clumsy and inexperienced, he diligently follows Kang Tae Joo and takes part in investigations at crime scenes.

MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Fifties Professionals” has unveiled its first stills of Shin Ha Kyun in character!

“Fifties Professionals” is an action-comedy about three seemingly ordinary but secretly dangerous middle-aged men who are brought back into action by destiny. The three men, who once reigned at the top of their respective fields, find themselves exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon after a mysterious incident. There, they begin a bittersweet and comedic quest to uncover the truth about the fateful day from 10 years ago that changed their lives.

Shin Ha Kyun plays Jung Ho Myung, a head chef at a Chinese restaurant. He was once the National Intelligence Service’s (NIS) top black agent. After a failed covert operation, he goes undercover on Yeongseon Island to recover a critical item. He continues his search while working at a Chinese restaurant, but as family responsibilities and earning a living take priority, 10 years pass.

The stills show two contrasting sides: the cold, charismatic NIS agent and chef Jung Ho Myung moving through the dining area while carrying a tray. In the stills, Jung Ho Myung’s facial expression and gaze are so different that it is hard to believe they are the same person. The images highlight a strong contrast between the agent with an unwavering gaze and his present self, who, despite his weariness, has not lost his sharp edge.

The production team remarked, “Jung Ho Myung’s double life, shifting from an NIS agent to a chef at a Chinese restaurant, is at the heart of the drama. As the lead driving the series, Shin Ha Kyun will deliver a complete performance. Viewers will once again recognize the true value of ‘God Ha Kyun’ through his presence and passion, which we witnessed on set.”

“Fifties Professionals” is set to premiere on May 22 as the follow-up to “Perfect Crown.”

“Unplanned Trip: Limited Edition” follows Park Seo Joon, Jung Yu Mi, and Choi Woo Shik as they travel across South Korea without knowing where they will go, where they will sleep, or how they will get there. It is a new version of the long-running “Youth Over Flowers” travel series.

The show keeps the original “trip without advance notice” travel concept from “Youth Over Flowers” but adds new rules to make the journey more entertaining, such as a budget cap of 100,000 won (approximately $67.20) per person. The strict limits create unexpected challenges and situations, leading to genuine reactions from the three cast members.

The newly released teaser begins with Jung Yu Mi, Park Seo Joon, and Choi Woo Shik sitting together on a train, engrossed in their phones. When a stop is announced, Park Seo Joon alerts the others that they need to get off. The three then quickly get up, hurriedly grab their belongings, and get off the train.

On April 14, the “BLUE LOCK” live action film unveiled a poster of K as Nagi Seishiro, confirming his casting in the film.

“Blue Lock,” the live action film, will follow the story of Isagi Yoichi (Takahashi Fumiya) on his soccer journey to become Japan’s top striker. The live action further stars Sakurai Kaito as Bachira Meguru, Takahashi Kyohei as Chigiri Hyoma, Nomura Kouta as Kunigami Rensuke, and more. K’s character Nagi Seishiro is naturally gifted at soccer, raising anticipation for the idol’s transformation.

Upcoming film “Colony” has unveiled a new poster and teaser!

Helmed by “Train to Busan” and “Peninsula” director Yeon Sang Ho, “Colony” follows the story that unfolds as a building is blockaded due to an unknown virus as those infected evolve into unpredictable forms, threatening the survivors. The film has been officially invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, earning critical acclaim prior to its premiere.

The newly released poster features multiple infected individuals, all covered in blood. They are captured in what appears to be a parking lot.

The accompanying international trailer begins with Seo Young Cheol (Koo Kyo Hwan) announcing that he was going to run an experiment before correcting himself to say that it is not an experiment but rather terrorism. In one scene, chaos ensues in a building as infected individuals appear and begin attacking people.

The teaser also gives a glimpse of the struggle for survival of the uninfected in the building. Multiple scenes show Choi Hyun Seok (Ji Chang Wook), Kwon Se Jung (Jun Ji Hyun), and other uninfected individuals trying to escape from the infected. In one scene, Kwon Se Jung is seen angrily questioning Seo Young Cheol, saying, “What the hell did you do?” while in another, Choi Hyun Seok is seen fighting off the infected to get people to safety.

The teaser ends with a blindfolded Seo Young Cheol whistling with a smile on his face as if he is content with the result of his mysterious experiment.

“Colony” is scheduled to hit theaters on May 21.

tvN’s “Filing for Love” is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Noh Ki Joon (Gong Myoung), the ace of a major corporation’s audit department, who is suddenly demoted to the team that handles internal misconduct. As a result, he winds up getting entangled with Joo In Ah (Shin Hae Sun), a tough and eccentric team leader who is hiding a secret.

The newly released stills show Park Ah Jeong in an elegant look. “Take a Hike!” follows four “involuntary hikers” who have never cared about hiking as they embark on their first-ever midwinter expedition across snow-covered peaks.

The show is directed by PD Park Hyun Yong, who has brought big laughs with “Earth Arcade,” “Jinny’s Kitchen,” and the “New Journey to the West” series.

The show’s distinctive concept is matched by an exciting cast lineup.
