Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has revealed its chart rankings for the week of April 5 to 11!

Album Chart

KickFlip swept the top two spots on this week’s physical album chart with their new mini album “My First Kick.” The regular version of the mini album debuted at No. 1, while the POCA version charted separately at No. 2.

AMPERS&ONE’s new mini album “DEFINITION” entered the chart at No. 3, while KISS OF LIFE’s single album “Who is she” debuted at No. 4.

Finally, KEYVITUP’s self-titled debut mini album “KEYVITUP” rounded out the top five for the week.

AKMU achieved a double crown on this week’s Circle charts, topping both the overall digital chart and the digital download chart with their latest hit “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart.”

The brother-sister duo dominated this week’s digital download chart, where they claimed three of the top five spots with songs from their new album “Flowering.” Their title track “Joy, Sorrow, A Beautiful Heart” debuted at No. 1, with B-sides “Paradise of Rumors” and “Sunshine Bless You” entering the chart at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively.

BTS’s “SWIM” climbed back up to No. 3 for the week, while KickFlip’s new title track “Eye-Poppin’” debuted at No. 4.

Streaming Chart

Hearts2Hearts’ “RUDE!” continued its reign at No. 1 on this week’s streaming chart, while KiiiKiii’s “404 (New Era)” held onto its spot at No. 2.

The next two spots on the chart went to HANRORO, with “Landing in Love” rising to No. 3 and “0+0” jumping to No. 4.

Finally, IVE’s “BANG BANG” rounded out the top five for the week.

Global K-Pop Chart

BTS maintained their double crown on the Circle charts this week, holding onto No. 1 on both the global K-pop chart and the social chart.

BTS continued to dominate the global K-pop chart with songs from “ARIRANG,” which once again swept four of this week’s top five spots. “SWIM” remained No. 1, followed by “2.0” at No. 3, “Body to Body” at No. 4, and “Hooligan” at No. 5.

Meanwhile, HUNTR/X’s long-running hit “Golden” (from the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack) maintained its position at No. 2.

Lee Chae Min recently joined Harper’s BAZAAR Korea for a pictorial and interview!

In the interview following his photo shoot, the rising actor shared candid thoughts about his career and acting roles. When asked what kinds of roles he is drawn to, he said, “They fall into two categories. There are projects I want to do because I can deeply relate to them or think they’d be fun, and there are projects I’m not entirely sure about but want to challenge myself with in order to discover a new side of me. In between taking on roles I can relate to, I also occasionally challenge myself with historical dramas or villain roles, which I think has made my filmography a bit diverse.”

When asked if there was a project that had made him nervous, he replied, “’Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’ was one where I clenched my teeth and told myself to just go for it. I was very happy and grateful, but honestly, the thought at the forefront of my mind was ‘Will I really be able to pull this off?’ The keyword ‘tyrant’ worried me. I’m not someone who usually expresses anger openly or raises my voice, so I wasn’t sure if I could handle the role of a high-intensity tyrant. In the beginning, I approached the acting almost like a task I had to carry out, but with the help of those around me and the director, I was able to see it through to the end.”

On how his strong competitive spirit has influenced him, Lee Chae Min remarked, “It has never allowed me to become complacent. There are so many people around me who can influence me. Rather than trying to follow their lives, I think part of my competitiveness comes from drawing motivation from them. Thanks to that, I’ve been able to keep working hard up until now.”

"My Royal Nemesis" Director Shares Thoughts On Lim Ji Yeon, Heo Nam Jun, And Jang Seung Jo's Casting And Chemistry

Director Han Tae Seop of the upcoming drama “My Royal Nemesis” has shared behind-the-scenes stories about the casting of Lim Ji Yeon, Heo Nam Jun, and Jang Seung Jo!

“My Royal Nemesis” is a romantic comedy starring Lim Ji Yeon as Shin Seo Ri, a struggling actress who is suddenly possessed by the spirit of a notorious villainess from the Joseon era. Heo Nam Jun will star as Cha Se Gye, a ruthless chaebol heir who is known as a “monster created by capitalism.”

Director Han Tae Seop expressed strong confidence in Lim Ji Yeon, saying, “Lim Ji Yeon was the top choice for both me and the writer. Her unique appeal, proven through many roles, closely matches the spirit shown by Shin Seo Ri, who steadfastly believes in herself and forges her own path.”

He went on, “In particular, Lim Ji Yeon naturally has Shin Seo Ri’s cute, refreshing, and lovable qualities. That’s why we saw her as our one-and-only casting choice.”

The director continued, “In the middle of the cold winter, we filmed a scene where Dan Shim [also played by Lim Ji Yeon] drinks poison and dies. I became so focused on Lim Ji Yeon’s acting that I forgot the cold. Watching her through the monitor, I felt as if my bones were aching. She is an actress who creates a very realistic sense of immersion and builds characters that only she can portray.”

Han Tae Seop added, “Please pay attention to the small and large moments and expressions through which Shin Seo Ri, an 18th-century Confucian-minded woman, delivers sharp remarks to modern-day people. These moments will deliver both catharsis and emotional impact to those of us who live while forgetting the values of ethics, morality, loyalty, and human decency.”

Meanwhile, director Han Tae Seop said of Heo Nam Jun, “I cast him for his ‘homme fatale’ charm, but I discovered he also has comedic talent. Cha Se Gye, created through the blend of Heo Nam Jun’s comedic timing and masculine appeal, will create tense and entertaining chemistry when he clashes with the strong-willed Shin Seo Ri without being overpowered.”

He continued, “I had faith that Heo Nam Jun’s flexible and delicate acting style would create strong chemistry with his co-stars. Lim Ji Yeon and Heo Nam Jun connected with their fellow actors with open hearts, resulting in both lighthearted fun and deep emotion. Even when they joked around on set, once the cameras started rolling, they focused on each other’s performances and supported one another. As a director, I felt grateful seeing that.”

Director Han Tae Seop also praised the performance of Jang Seung Jo, who plays Cha Se Gye’s distant cousin Choi Moon Do, saying, “Jang Seung Jo skillfully brought to life the multifaceted character of Choi Moon Do, who anchors the story with a strong presence amidst the light and cheerful narrative.”

He added, “I spent a long time speaking with Jang Seung Jo and focused on how a ‘villain’ is both similar to and different from us. The character of Choi Moon Do, shaped by Jang Seung Jo’s passion and dedication, will feel compelling, chilling, and at times even pitiful.”

Finally, the director highlighted key points that viewers can look forward to in the drama, saying, “The clash of vivid characters and the performances of talented actors will make the drama extremely immersive. LUCY Cancels Official Light Stick Release After Fan Backlash

Mystic Story has canceled the release of LUCY’s official light stick due to backlash from fans.

On April 22, LUCY announced that they would be releasing their first official light stick and unveiled a glimpse of the design.

As the band’s fandom name is “Walwal” (a Korean onomatopoeia for the sound of a dog barking), the light stick was designed to look like a dog bone. Fans also noticed that it featured two small rings at the top, seemingly so that it could be worn around the neck as a necklace.

After many fans responded negatively to the design of the light stick, with some having already been unhappy with the fandom name, Mystic Story announced that same night that they had decided to cancel the release.

The agency’s full statement and apology is as follows:

Hello. This is Mystic Story.

We are making an announcement regarding the official light stick that was revealed today. We humbly and seriously accepted the many opinions that you sent us through various channels, and after an internal reconsideration of the matter in question, we have decided to cancel the release.

We sincerely apologize for the fact that, through this process, we wound up disconcerting the people who are giving [LUCY] so much support. Once again, we deeply apologize for having caused discomfort, and we will work even harder so that the love and expectations you give us will not be in vain.

MODYSSEY's Hengyu Sits Out Schedule Due To Health

MODYSSEY’s Hengyu was unable to join his bandmates for today’s live broadcast of “Show Champion.”

On April 22, ONECEAD announced that after the pre-recording for “Show Champion” earlier that day, Hengyu had visited the hospital “due to a sudden decline in his condition.” There, he was “advised by medical staff that he requires sufficient rest.”

The agency went on to explain that as a result, Hengyu would be unable to participate in the music show’s live broadcast later that day.

The show will spotlight part of Venerable Pomnyun Sunim’s 34-year pilgrimage journey to sacred sites across India. Widely known as “the nation’s mentor” and one of Korea’s most respected Buddhist figures, he steps into his first-ever road variety show, traveling with guests as they ride rickshaws, share street food, and embrace unexpected moments. Through the journey, he reveals a more candid, human side—at one point even remarking, “Variety shows are harder than spiritual practice.”

The two leads of “Absolute Value of Romance” recently participated in a photo shoot with the fashion magazine Cosmopolitan Korea!

“Absolute Value of Romance” is a drama about high school student Yeo Ui Ju (Kim Hyang Gi), who writes romance novels featuring handsome teachers as the main characters. She encounters the teachers—Ga Woo Su (Cha Hak Yeon), Noh Da Ju (Kim Jae Hyun), Jung Gi Jeon (Sohn Jeong Hyuck), Yoon Dong Ju (Kim Dong Gyu)—in real life in unexpected moments and becomes the central figure in a turbulent school life.

Talking about the drama, Cha Hak Yeon said, “It’s a series where the characters’ youth and growth are clearly portrayed. Watching Woo Su grow because of Eui Ju was something I could genuinely relate to, and when filming the final class scene, I actually felt very emotional.”

Kim Hyang Gi shared, “It’s a project that delivers its message in a simple and natural way. So when you watch it, you’ll be able to relate to it and find it funny.”

On how similar they are to their characters, Cha Hak Yeon said, “When I first met Woo Su, I thought we had nothing in common. His personality and way of speaking are very cold. But if there is one similarity, it’s that we both have strong ‘T’ (“Thinking” personality in MBTI) tendencies. Other than that, we’re quite different, so getting to know Woo Su was actually interesting.”

Kim Hyang Gi added, “Our similarity is having a passionate love for something and the desire to achieve a dream. Just like Eui Ju works toward her dream of becoming a writer, I was deeply immersed in acting during my school years, and that period lasted quite a long time. I tried to draw from that experience.”

They also talked about their most memorable scenes. Kim Hyang Gi said, “There’s a scene early on where the teachers are introduced for the first time. When news spreads that young, handsome male teachers have been assigned to the school, the students all rush into the staff room—that scene really captures the overall atmosphere of our series, so it left a strong impression on me.”

Cha Hak Yeon shared, “In the drama, Woo Su is a completely guarded and perfectionist teacher. He builds his own walls and doesn’t let anyone inside. But there’s a scene where this almost perfect character completely breaks down. He faints over something as trivial as pigeon droppings. At the time, I was lying there with my eyes closed, and Hyang Gi’s acting was so lively and expressive. Eventually, I reached the point where just hearing her breathing would make me burst out laughing. I think we had to reshoot that scene more than 10 times.”
