Chae Won Bin will face an impossible choice between Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Bum in SBS’s upcoming drama “Sold Out on You”!

“Sold Out on You” is a romantic comedy about the unexpected love story between Matthew Lee (Ahn Hyo Seop), a perfectionist farmer juggling multiple jobs, and Dam Ye Jin (Chae Won Bin), a top home shopping show host who suffers from severe insomnia.

Ahn Hyo Seop will star as Matthew Lee, who is extremely prickly and meticulous when it comes to his work. In addition to being a farmer, he is also the CEO of a natural ingredient company and a cosmetics development researcher. 

Although Matthew Lee appears cold and blunt on the outside, he is hiding a surprisingly warm heart on the inside. Despite being busy with his work, the dependable Matthew Lee tirelessly runs around helping the residents of his quiet rural village with their problems. When Dam Ye Jin barges into his life like a bulldozer in a quest for his rare white mushrooms, his unexpected duality will catch her off guard.

Meanwhile, Kim Bum will play Seo Eric, an executive director at a global skincare brand. “My Royal Nemesis” is a romantic comedy starring Lim Ji Yeon as Shin Seo Ri, a struggling actress who is suddenly possessed by the spirit of a notorious villainess from the Joseon era. Heo Nam Jun will star as Cha Se Gye, a ruthless chaebol heir who is known as a “monster created by capitalism.”

“Absolute Value of Romance” tells the story of high school student Yeo Eui Ju (Kim Hyang Gi), who secretly writes a BL novel featuring her handsome teachers as the main characters. However, when she winds up running into these teachers in real life at unexpected moments, her once-peaceful school life takes a turbulent turn.

The newly released stills depict Yeo Eui Ju grasping tightly to her phone with her gaze wavering as the prickly and cold match tacher Ga Wu Su (Cha Hak Yeon) appears in front of her, hinting at a misunderstanding that will take place.

As the handsome men who moved in next door become Yeo Eui Ju’s teachers, the stills of Gi Jeon (Sohn Jeong Hyuck) and Da Ju (Kim Jae Hyun) teaching at Eui Ju’s school further raise anticipation for her chaotic school life.

Set in an alternate universe where modern-day Korea is a constitutional monarchy, “Perfect Crown” tells the love story of Seong Hui Ju (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything but is only a commoner in status, and Grand Prince Ian (Byeon Woo Seok), a prince who has nothing despite being the son of the king.

On the second episode of “Perfect Crown,” Seong Hui Ju and Grand Prince Ian were swept up in dating rumors after being photographed entering the same hotel. During a past relationship with an idol, Seong Hui Ju suffered all sorts of indignities, such as being pelted with eggs and having her car vandalized by angry fans—and now that she has been connected romantically to a prince beloved by the whole nation, she is in for another trying ordeal.

What started as a silly legal thriller drama has turned into a deeply emotional show, and I am loving it! The beginning of the second half of “Phantom Lawyer” not only brings new cases and characters but also a newfound depth within the main leads. Shin I Rang (Yoo Yeon Seok) had already won hearts with his kind and goofy yet determined personality, but watching him along with Han Na Hyun (Esom), whose character development is more than satisfactory, brings a greater appeal to this story. 

With their budding relationship going stronger than ever, here are some of the times they teamed up and supported each other in last week’s episodes! 

Warning: spoilers from episodes 9-10 ahead! 

1. Spending time with the ghost of Han Na Hyun’s sister

So far, to I Rang, being a ghost’s lawyer meant trying to seek justice for his clients. However, when Han Na Hyun’s sister appears to him, he quickly realizes that, more than justice for an unfair ruling, what this particular soul needs is a more personal closure—and not only for her but for her family, and especially Na Hyun as well. This chance to reunite with her sister is what will open the gates to getting to know Na Hyun for real. 

As silly or funny as it might be to watch I Rang possessed by a teenage girl once again, this time it hits harder because there’s someone who actually can feel that connection with the soul that’s taking over his body. To the people around them, they only appear to be a lovey-dovey couple, but when they show us the parallels in which Na Hyun’s sister appears, the true sisterly love transpires, making every scene take on a more endearing tone. However, at the end of the day, nothing could change what’s irreversible. And Na Hyun inevitably breaks down when she realizes that, despite I Rang’s ability, her sister can never come back to her. 

The last thing they can do is try to mend the broken relationship between Na Hyun and her parents, who also carried a heavy weight after losing one child and almost losing another to guilt and grief. Fortunately, they do take the first steps to make it. And throughout it all, I Rang is there to be Na Hyun’s ultimate supporter. 

2. Working together in an inheritance case 

Completely on the same side now, Na Hyun and I Rang work together on a complicated inheritance case from a shoemaker man (cameo by Lee Deok Hwa) who passed away due to Alzheimer’s disease. The issue isn’t only tricky due to the money aspect but also due to the entangled relationship between the man, his wife, and a late friend who died after she was framed for being a North Korean spy. Furthermore, and as expected, the opposing side is none other than Yang Do Kyung (Kim Kyung Nam), who will stop at nothing to prove to his father what he is capable of. 

Despite Yang Byeong Il (Choi Kwang Il) seeming like a nice character, there’s something about his presence and apparent kindness toward I Rang that makes you wonder what exactly his intentions are or what he is hiding behind his smile. However, it is clear that the more the people at Taebaek target I Rang, the more Na Hyun will stand by his side. Although they don’t completely agree on the course of action for this case, she still tries to understand his stance, which is to fully support his client and the ghost that follows them. 

3. Taking care of Shin I Rang when he gets possessed 

In these episodes, our hero goes through not one but two constant possessions, which naturally can take a toll on him. After witnessing how distressing and powerful a possession can be, Na Hyun has no choice but to become the ultimate I Rang defender. Watching him not being able to control this side effect of his ghost sighting and how lonely his situation can be pulls at Na Hyun’s heartstrings. In what direction they are going is still unknown, but it is definitely promising. 

For every softy like I Rang, there must be a strong person like Na Hyun. At first, she may have been cold and calculating, but deep inside, she was always empathetic and caring, showing that she is the perfect person to be a lawyer. Perhaps their chemistry isn’t fully developed yet, but their sort of chaotic dynamic with sprinkles of romance is really enjoyable. And since this latest case is far from over, we can still hope to see so much more from this new couple in the upcoming episodes of “Phantom Lawyer”!

“Salmokji: Whispering Water” is off to a strong start at the box office!

Ever since its release on April 8, the new horror film starring Kim Hye Yoon and Lee Jong Won has enjoyed an uninterrupted nine-day streak at No. 1 at the Korean box office.

On April 17, the Korean Film Council announced that “Salmokji: Whispering Water” had officially surpassed 1 million moviegoers, meaning that it took less than 10 days to hit the 1 million mark.

Notably, “Salmokji: Whispering Water” is the fastest horror film to reach the milestone since the 2019 movie “Metamorphosis.”

“Salmokji: Whispering Water” tells the story of a production crew sent to a reservoir named Salmokji to reshoot road-view footage after an unidentified figure was spotted in their initial footage. There, they encounter a mysterious presence lurking in the deep, dark water.

“The WONDERfools” is a superpower comic action set in 1999, a time when apocalyptic beliefs were rampant. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight against villains threatening the peace of Haeseong city.

The newly released poster captures Team Wonderfools peeping above a vending machine as various objects float around them. Eun Chae Ni (Park Eun Bin) smiles brightly while Lee Woon Jung (Cha Eun Woo) focuses intently. Meanwhile, Son Kyung Hoon (Choi Dae Hoon) looks surprised as Kang Robin (Im Seong Jae) is scared and taken aback. The copy “Lovable misfits on a superpowered adventure” raises anticipation for their chaotic journey.

Season 2 of “Signal” has reportedly been removed from tvN’s summer programming.

On April 17, Korean news outlet OSEN reported that “The Second Signal,” the long-awaited second season of the hit 2016 drama “Signal,” had been pulled from its summer broadcast slot and would no longer be premiering in June as originally scheduled.

OSEN also reported that tvN had decided to air Apple TV+’s “Pachinko” instead of “The Second Signal.”

Later that morning, tvN responded to the reports by stating, “Nothing has yet been decided regarding the broadcasting of ‘The Second Signal.’”

The network also stated, “While it’s true that ‘Pachinko’ has been confirmed to air on tvN, the exact dates and time slot have not yet been decided.”

tvN also cautiously told Maeil Business Newspaper, “Nothing has yet been decided regarding the broadcasting of ‘The Second Signal.’”

In December of last year, “The Second Signal” star Cho Jin Woong came under fire after he was revealed to have a juvenile criminal record from his school days. Disclosures also surfaced about incidents from his adulthood, including an assault-related dispute and a drunk driving record. Cho Jin Woong ultimately acknowledged responsibility and announced his retirement, leaving the future of “The Second Signal,” which had already completed filming in August, uncertain.

According to OSEN’s unconfirmed report, “The Second Signal” has not been definitively canceled. Instead, tvN is currently in the process of taking more time to consider its broadcast plans for the drama. As the series was originally intended to air this year to commemorate tvN’s 20th anniversary, the network is said to be discussing the possibility of a premiere sometime before the end of 2026.

Kwak Dong Yeon may be joining his friend Park Bo Gum at THEBLACKLABEL!

On April 17, THEBLACKLABEL confirmed that the actor was in talks to sign with the agency, stating, “We are currently discussing an exclusive contract with actor Kwak Dong Yeon, and the outlook is favorable.”

Earlier in the day, Kwak Dong Yeon was confirmed to have parted ways with his former agency Blitzway Entertainment after six years.

“We Are All Trying Here” has offered a glimpse into the hilariously childish dynamic of Koo Kyo Hwan and Oh Jung Se.

“We Are All Trying Here” tells the story of Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), who, surrounded by successful friends, believes he is the only one whose life isn’t working out. Consumed by anguish, envy, and jealousy, he sets out on a journey in search of peace.

Koo Kyo Hwan and Oh Jung Se star as aspiring film director Hwang Dong Man and successful filmmaker Park Kyung Se, respectively. The two portray a “special” 20-year friendship defined by relentless verbal sparring and blunt jabs. Their hilariously petty battle of inferiority complexes is a key source of comedy in the drama. Ahead of the drama’s premiere, the two actors picked out particularly “ridiculously childish” scenes that preview this dynamic.

Koo Kyo Hwan first mentioned the so-called “kimchi stew incident.” He described it as childish when Park Kyung Se orders a non-spicy kimchi stew for Hwang Dong Man—who claims he doesn’t like kimchi stew. However, Koo Kyo Hwan continued: “But Hwang Dong Man is even more childish for following him to a kimchi stew restaurant and then saying he doesn’t like kimchi stew!”

Oh Jung Se, on the other hand, confessed that he was “deeply wounded” by Hwang Dong Man’s “congratulatory remark.” At what should have been Park Kyung Se’s happiest moment—when he released his film—Hwang Dong Man kept it simple by just saying one word: “Congrats!”

Oh Jung Se elaborated, saying, “It’s something I remember as an unforgettable, unpleasant feeling,” pointing to the strange gap between the word “congratulations” and the actual atmosphere in that moment. Highlighting the irony of a congratulation that leaves the recipient emotionally bruised, he added with a tease, “You’ll understand when you watch it.”

These amusing scenes are elevated by the remarkable synergy between the two actors. Koo Kyo Hwan praised his co-star, saying, “Even in moments when they’re clashing over petty insecurities, Oh Jung Se delivers lines that end with exclamation marks, not by raising his voice, but with a quiet, weighty energy.” He added, “His uniquely calm sense of humor has been a great learning experience for me.”

Oh Jung Se also applauded Koo Kyo Hwan’s distinctive aura. Mentioning Hwang Dong Man as a member of an elite group of eight prominent filmmakers, he shared, “Among the eight people, Hwang Dong Man feels like a different color, yet at the same time shares the same emotional tone.” He continued, “That’s not something you can portray through a simple concept—it’s the result of Koo Kyo Hwan’s deep thought and effort.”

The production team commented, “Koo Kyo Hwan and Oh Jung Se have brought to life a chillingly realistic dynamic of a 20-year friendship filled with both deep affection and intense resentment—two people who know each other’s most vulnerable sides better than anyone.” They added, “The outrageously petty yet painfully human chemistry between these two men forms another central pillar of the drama. “The Scarecrow” follows a detective investigating a series of murders who is forced into an unlikely partnership with a man he despises. Set between 1988 and 2019, the suspenseful story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.

The newly released stills offer a glimpse of Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo) returning to Gangseong. In the first image, the demoted detective reunites with his hometown friends despite his less-than-honorable transfer. Seated with Seo Ji Won (Kwak Sun Young) and Lee Ki Hwan (Jung Moon Sung)—friends he grew up with—Kang Tae Joo shares easy smiles, hinting at their long-standing and close-knit bond. However, the warm atmosphere takes a sudden turn when a young man appears. Dropping to his knees before Kang Tae Joo with a desperate expression, he immediately raises questions about what has happened.

The behind-the-scenes look begins with Kim Go Eun introducing herself as Yumi and Kim Jae Won as Soon Rok. Although linking arms at first, Kim Go Eun quickly lets go and playfully claims, “We’re not close yet,” making Kim Jae Won burst out into laughter. The two promise, “We plan on gradually getting closer!”

When filming begins, Kim Go Eun shares that she has gone skydiving before on her own, much to Chansung’s surprise. Making a special appearance on the show, Chansung realistically portrays a skydiving scene.

Rookie actor Won Gyu Bin may be stepping into the role of Bong Seok, previously played by Lee Jung Ha, in the hit Disney+ series “Moving 2”!

On April 16, SPOTV News reported that Won Gyu Bin has been cast as Kim Bong Seok in Season 2 of “Moving.” According to the report, around 150 cast and crew members recently gathered at KINTEX in Ilsan for a full script reading, which Won Gyu Bin is also reported to have attended.

In response to the casting reports, Won Gyu Bin’s agency nne stated, “We cannot confirm this. We ask for your understanding.” Disney+ likewise responded with “unable to confirm.”

Based on the webtoon of the same name by writer Kang Full, “Moving” is a superhero action drama about teenagers with hidden superhuman powers and their parents who harbor painful secrets from their pasts. Together, they confront powerful dark forces that span generations.

Season 1 was a major global success upon its release, becoming the most-watched Korean original series on Disney+ at the time. Season 2 is expected to expand the story with new characters and storylines and is currently aiming for a 2027 premiere.

While Season 1 focused on younger leads like Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha), Hui Soo (Go Youn Jung), and Gang Hoon (Kim Do Hoon), the upcoming season is expected to shift more focus toward newly introduced characters and the adult generation.

In the previous episode, the Sung family caused chaos in Yeonriri after their two sons ran away from home. On top of that, it was revealed that the eldest son Sung Ji Cheon (Lee Jin Woo) had dropped out of medical school. The series of crises left Sung Tae Hoon shocked. Tensions grew further as Sung Ji Cheon remained firmly closed off, and past trauma came back to the surface.

The newly released stills show Sung Tae Hoon behaving differently from before. He does not tell his wife Jo Mi Ryeo (Lee Soo Kyung) about Sung Ji Cheon’s withdrawal from medical school. Instead, he reflects on his past neglect of his children and decides to change how he raises them. He begins making real efforts, including preparing breakfast himself and starting conversations with his sons.

A bewitchingly beautiful sorcerer named He Si Mu (Dilraba Dilmurat) is the sovereign of the spirit world. The 400-year-old Spirit Lord walks the earth to guide mortals to the spirit world at night and guide the spirts back to their realm during the day. She encounters a dashing young general named Duan Xu (Arthur Chen) on one of her many earthly prowls and is intrigued. But more than by him, it is the sword of deliverance that he carries that catches her interest.

She plans her moves, getting close to him. But it’s trickier than she anticipated, since Duan Xu has several tricks up his sleeve. What starts off as a playful push and pull escalates into something deeper and meaningful. “Love Beyond the Grave” is not just a supernatural fantasy drama but one with a strong emotional core.

We are introduced to He Si Mu, the enchanting wandering Spirit Lord. She has been anointed as the current Sovereign, given her skills as a spirit which have been honed over years of cultivation.

Dressed in her bright robes, she confesses that her world is devoid of color, and she also lacks the five senses, though seeing her confidence, you would think otherwise. She loves to roam the mortal world, especially Liangzhou. There is a prophecy that the master of the Deliverance Sword is a spell bearer who will help bring her senses back. It has been over three hundred years, and she has yet to meet this man.

On one of her many jaunts, as she walks down the wartorn interiors of the city, an injured man asks her to save his son. Making her way toward the pile of bodies, she notices the Commander of the Tabai Army, the young general Duan Xu, walk in.

Si Mu, who wears a perpetual nonchalant expression, is taken aback for once. She notices the Sword of Deliverance strapped to Duan Xu’s waist, the very sword that had belonged to her aunt centuries ago. Curious about Duan Xu and equally about him being its master, she transforms into her mortal body, taking the identity of He Xiao Xiao.

She faints and asks Duan Xu to help save her brother, the injured man’s son, Chen Ying. Duan Xu asks his men to escort her and Chen Ying to their estate.

Duan Xu’s people are suspicious of her, regarding both her and Chen Ying as spies. On the other hand, Si Mu is equally wary of Duan Xu, convinced he is not what he claims to be. But during an assassination attempt on him, she realizes that he is indeed the sword’s master and the chosen one.

She later learns from her assistant, who is investigating Duan Xu for her, that he comes from a scholarly family and had relatives in the royalty but was impeached. But now that he is a general, Si Mu concludes that he is bound to die sooner or later and that she will eventually gain access to the sword.

One day, while observing him incognito, she slips from her Spirit Lantern, which trembles in the presence of the sword, causing her to fall from her vantage point. Duan Xu sees her, and it is clear he knows she is not who she pretends to be.

Duan Xu, on the other hand, is impressed with her knack for predicting the weather, a skill that proves to be useful in battle, and he asks her to stay by his side. He also asks his people to investigate her, and though they return empty handed, he remarks with a smile that she is rather interesting.

When one of his commandants, who is investigating her, asks her to divulge the truth as to why she keeps shadowing him, she answers with a straight face that she loves him. Duan Xu overhears and smiles, well aware she is playing games.

In one scene, when Si Mu enters his room and observes his scarred body, her curiosity deepens. Observing him closely, she is convinced Duan Xu is not who he claims to be: there is nothing about him that feels rooted in the region he supposedly belongs to. Her hunch is further confirmed when her assistant reports that Duan Xu was ambushed in battle at the age of 19, leading her to believe he may not be the same person but someone who has been replaced.

It is amusing how, in her thoughts, she refers to him as “foxy,” recognizing that he is far more than he appears and admiring his sharp reflexes.

Duan Xu, meanwhile, is well aware that she lacks the five senses and is able to see her even when she is invisible. The two are constantly testing each other, and though the outcomes are sometimes grim, they are often laced with humor.

Since she knows he is her spell breaker and no longer wishes for his death, she wants to protect him. She offers him a deal: she will grant his wishes in return for helping her regain her senses. But Duan Xu refuses, saying he never makes wishes. Si Mu needs to craft another plan, but it seems he knows very well what her designs are.

Who are these two individuals, caught in such a strange dance of fates?

Dilraba Dilmurat presents Si Mu as playful and elusive, carrying an almost childlike smile that suggests very little truly moves her. There is an ease and confidence to her, a self assuredness that makes the character feel both untouchable and quietly intriguing.

Arthur Chen, on the other hand, is every bit the dashing general—composed, restrained, and quietly perceptive. He brings a calm intensity to Duan Xu, revealing more through stillness than overt expression.

Together, the two share an understated yet compelling chemistry, one that simmers beneath their constant probing and distrust.

What also stands out also is the sheer production value. The costumes, in particular, are stunning, rich in detail and texture, adding to the visual grandeur of the world.

On April 16, Netflix’s upcoming drama “The Facade of Love” unveiled its star-studded cast featuring Lee Dong Wook, Jeon So Nee, Jung Yu Mi, and Lee Jong Won.

A new project by director Mo Wan Il who helmed “The World of the Married,” “The Facade of Love” tells the story of how the lives of four individuals are completely shaken after a man and a woman far from home spend an unforgettable night together in an unfamiliar place.

The core narrative focuses on the process of cracks forming in their relationships as Ji Hun and Hu Kyung, who met by chance, find themselves unable to stop being drawn to each other even after returning to Korea.

Lee Dong Wook will play the role of Ji Hun, a man experiencing a rift between reason and emotion, promising a deep, nuanced performance.

Jeon So Nee will take on the role of Hu Kyung, a character with a mysterious charm who anchors the center of the story.
