Actor Moon Sang Min has signed a long-term contract renewal with his current agency well ahead of schedule!

On May 21, a media outlet reported that Moon Sang Min signed an early contract renewal with Awesome ENT one year before his exclusive contract expires.

In response to the report, the actor’s agency Awesome ENT stated, “We recently renewed our exclusive contract with Moon Sang Min. With more than a year remaining on his existing contract, the actor himself first proposed that he wanted to continue working with us, so we proceeded with the renewal.”

The agency further stated, “We plan to establish long-term activity plans and provide unwavering support so that he can grow into an actor recognized both domestically and internationally.”

Since his debut in 2019, Moon Sang Min has gained recognition through various projects including the dramas such as “Under the Queen’s Umbrella,” “Wedding Impossible,” and “Cinderella at 2AM.” He has also served as a music show MC and solidified his status as a star in the first half of this year by starring in the KBS drama “My Beloved Thief” and the Netflix film “Pavane.”

Upcoming BL drama “Love Class 3” has unveiled a brand-new teaser!

The third installment of the BL campus romance series “Love Class,” “Love Class 3″ tells the story of Hyun Jae (Saebyeol), Soo An (Seo Ihan), Jae Min (Lee Woo Jin), and Khun (Panutuch Saelee) as they navigate between their K-pop dreams and romance.

The newly released teaser opens with Hyun Jae and Soo An gradually growing closer while competing on an idol survival program. However, when Hyun Jae carefully takes Soo An’s hand only to point at the camera moments later, combined with narration saying, “We both used each other to get famous, and you even got to debut. Isn’t that enough?” the teaser suggests that Soo An begins to believe Hyun Jae’s affection was nothing more than “fan service” for publicity.

When the two reunite later on, emotions quickly turn tense. Hyun Jae asks, “Why did you ghost me?” while Soo An bitterly responds, “Do you have any more use for me? Or do you want me to sleep with you?” Paired with scenes of the pair kissing and Hyun Jae’s lingering question, “Do you really feel nothing for me?” the teaser hints at a relationship filled with misunderstandings, unresolved feelings, and undeniable attraction.

Meanwhile, the teaser also introduces the budding romance between Jae Min and Khun, whose story begins with an accidental encounter on campus. Park Eun Bin plays Cheon Yeo Ri, a chaebol heiress who seems to have everything but hides the secret that she can see ghosts.

Park Ji Hoon has ended discussions to star in a new drama about boxers.

On May 21, a media outlet reported that Park Ji Hoon turned downed the casting offer for the new tvN drama “Promoter” and that the production team is now looking for a new lead actor.

In response to the report, Park Ji Hoon’s agency stated, “Park Ji Hoon has ultimately declined the offer to star in the tvN drama ‘Promoter.'”

The theater kids of K-pop have done something only theater kids could do. On May 11, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that SEVENTEEN’s youngest member, Dino, will be debuting as his alter ego, Picheolin.

Picheolin’s first mini album, “吉BOARD” (Gilboard), is set to release on global music platforms on August 3. The title is described as a “witty take” on Billboard charts, referring to the unofficial street music charts and cassette compilations popular in the 1990s.

While veteran CARATs, SEVENTEEN’s fandom, are already well acquainted with Picheolin, newer fans and non-fans were left confused, wondering why a 27-year-old idol was suddenly dressing and speaking with the mannerisms of an ahjussi.

So, here’s the full lore behind SEVENTEEN member Dino’s “Gilboard”-charting alter ego, Picheolin.

Origin of DINO’s alter-ego, Picheolin

Picheolin first appeared in SEVENTEEN’s 2021 CARATLAND VCR, a term commonly used for the pre-recorded videos or interludes shown during concerts and fan meetings.

SEVENTEEN is especially known among fans for turning their CARATLAND VCRs into elaborate comedy skits, and the 2021 CARATLAND VCR was no exception. It begins with Seungkwan, the writer of a fictional show, “What the Earth,” and producer Jeonghan walking through a village while discussing plans for the program. During their walk, they speak on the phone with the village head, Mingyu. According to him, the village has a 40-year history and is home to numerous “masters,” making it the perfect setting for the show.

As Mingyu gives Seungkwan and Jeonghan a tour of the village, viewers are introduced to Picheolin for the first time, a name that plays on the English word “featuring.” (Note: “Featuring,” often abbreviated as “feat.” or “ft.,” refers to the music practice where a primary artist invites a guest performer onto a track.)

Picheolin appears wearing his now-iconic glasses, speaking with the accent and mannerisms of a middle-aged man, while somehow being energetic enough to put even Gen Zs to shame. He introduces himself as a 53-year-old fashionista and music producer.

The rest of the VCR solidifies his character as an overly enthusiastic man who constantly interrupts conversations and inserts himself into discussions while the production team is introduced to the rest of the village residents.

While every SEVENTEEN member played a different character in the 2021 CARATLAND VCR, as well as in content released before and after it, Dino’s character Picheolin was by far the one who kept reappearing.

“GOING SEVENTEEN WONWOO’s Diary”

The “GOING SEVENTEEN” episode “WONWOO’s Diary,” released on July 20, 2022, follows Wonwoo, who dreams of becoming a documentary director. He visits a village seemingly identical to the one featured in the 2021 CARATLAND VCR and begins documenting its eccentric residents, each with personalities of their own.

This episode marks the first time Picheolin breaks containment and appears in SEVENTEEN’s YouTube variety show, “GOING SEVENTEEN.” Here, he is referred to as “Fe Turin.” With Picheolin’s classic mannerisms, accent, and most importantly his signature shades, it’s clear that he is the same character.

“GOING SEVENTEEN COMEBACK SPECIAL: God of Light Music”

The “GOING SEVENTEEN” episodes released on October 18, 2023, ahead of SEVENTEEN’s “God of Music” comeback are among the most meta in the series to date.

Across the two-part special, the members portray exaggerated characters involved in the music industry, while Dino takes on the role of Fe Turing, the CEO of a fraudulent entertainment company, BOMG.

The episodes further expanded Picheolin’s chaotic lore and cemented him as one of Dino’s recurring comedy personas.

Fun fact: The song “God of Light Music,” a trot version of SEVENTEEN’s “God of Music” created during the episode, became so popular that the group eventually released it officially on global streaming platforms in December 2023.

38th Golden Disc Awards, BSS’s “Fighting (ft. Picheolin)”

Picheolin’s most iconic appearance to date came during the 38th Golden Disc Awards, where he made a surprise appearance during BSS’s (BooSeokSoon) performance of “Fighting.”

On January 6, 2024, appearing fully in character, he performed alongside the subunit and delivered a personalized rap that perfectly matched Picheolin’s over-the-top alter ego. The performance also featured his signature catchphrase: “sarang-e nunbit,” literally translated as “Eyes of Love,” which has since become one of Picheolin’s taglines.

“GOING SEVENTEEN Special ETC: DINO Name Change to Fe Turin?”

Picheolin re-enters “GOING SEVENTEEN” lore on March 20, 2024, through the special episode “ETC: DINO Name Change to Fe Turin?”

Typically, “GOING SEVENTEEN” episodes revolve around a single concept, whether that is the members playing mafia games, debating absurd topics, or going on retreats. However, “ETC” is structured differently. The episode compiles several smaller ideas that were too underdeveloped to become standalone episodes.

Although Dino does not physically dress up as Picheolin in the episode, the central gag is that PLEDIS Entertainment’s CEO has supposedly decided to officially change Dino’s stage name to Fe Turin. Making CARATs wonder, was this a foreshadowing!?

While the decision to debut as a 50-something-year-old alter-ego might still seem absurd to some, this is not the first time SEVENTEEN has turned an inside joke into a Billboard-charting career move.

SEVENTEEN’s subunit BSS, which broke countless record, scored numerous awards, and whose song “Fighting” was used as the official cheering song for Team South Korea at the 2024 Paris Olympics, also started as an inside joke during 2018 CARATLAND.

Furthermore, SEVENTEEN’s subunit DxS turned their scripted towel-throwing fight from “GOING SEVENTEEN COMEBACK SPECIAL: SEVENTEEN TV” for the “Happy Burstday” album into a five-minute-long parody film for the DxS “SERENADE ON STAGE” concert VCR.

Whether as Dino or Picheolin, one thing remains certain: no one commits to the bit quite like SEVENTEEN. Sarang-e Nunbit!!!

Park Eun Bin recently sat down with Cosmopolitan Korea magazine to discuss her new Netflix series “The WONDERfools.”

“The WONDERfools” is a superhero action comedy set in 1999, a time when apocalyptic beliefs were rampant. It follows a group of neighborhood misfits who unexpectedly gain superpowers and fight against villains threatening the peace of Haeseong City.

In the interview following the shoot, Park Eun Bin shared, “Since I’m someone who is mainly seen through video, I often feel awkward seeing myself in photos. At times like that, I find it easier to approach the shoot by channeling a character. Today, I brought out Chae Ni’s quirky side for the shoot.”

Speaking about Eun Chae Ni, her character in “The WONDERfools,” Park Eun Bin remarked, “In a nutshell, you could describe Chae Ni as a kid who can’t travel because of a heart condition, but I ultimately thought that these characters possess qualities that can represent many different people.”

Revealing her affection for the drama, she continued, “I loved the message that these characters aren’t nobodies—they simply haven’t accomplished anything yet, but they are still people living meaningful lives in their own ways. Even if not many people recognize that they saved the world, the fact that they accomplished it themselves, and that they acknowledge one another for it, was a great comfort to me.”

Actress Park Eun Bin, who has courageously challenged herself with a wide variety of roles, commented, “When I was younger, change felt unstable to me, but now I think you can only move forward if you change. I believe that as we change, our gears gradually align with one another. Playing a variety of characters has now become something enjoyable because I discover sides of myself I never knew existed. Thankfully, the projects I personally felt drawn to up until now have also been loved by viewers and fans. I’m grateful that the path I believed was right turned out to be one that others recognized as well.”

When asked what “The WONDERfools” and Eun Chae Ni mean to her, she replied, “I think people who loved Song Ji Won from the drama ‘Age of Youth‘ will also love this character. Of course, the story and genre are different, but there are similarities between the two. I hope Chae Ni can fill the longing people may still have for Ji Won.”

KiiiKiii continued their reign at the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 1,154,671. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “Gen Z vibe,” “404,” and “KiiiKiii FesTiiival,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “distinguish themselves,” “participate,” and “active.” KiiiKiii’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.17 percent positive reactions.

Meanwhile, TWS rose to second place with a brand reputation index of 930,321 for May.

While filming at a mountain location, Jung Moon Sung is seen joking with the camera crew and drawing laughter from staff. Alongside Seo Ji Hye and Park Hae Soo, he explores the set and finds a heart-shaped stone. He makes Seo Ji Hye laugh by playfully showing it off to the camera, underscoring the contrast between the drama’s dark tone and the cast’s easy camaraderie.

The newly released poster captures the confident strides of four key figures from the ERPB against the backdrop of a chaotic school hallway, each displaying a distinct personality.

Leading the group is Na Hwa Jin (Kim Moo Yeol) with a relaxed smile, followed by Choi Gang Seok (Lee Sung Min), who carries a serious presence; Im Han Rim (Jin Ki Joo), whose sharp gaze stands out; and Bong Geun Dae (Block B’s P.O), shown with his fist clenched. Meanwhile, the trailer portrays the clash between a school spiraling out of control and the ERPB confronting it head-on through fast-paced action sequences, hinting at a satisfying sense of catharsis.

“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.

The newly released stills offer a glimpse of the film’s signature chaotic charm as the members of TRIANGLE—who dream of making a comeback—along with their former rival singer Sung Gon (Oh Jung Se), become entangled in a string of unexpected incidents. From Kang Dong Won as Hyun Woo and Um Tae Goo as Sang Gu to Park Ji Hyun as Do Mi and Oh Jung Se as Sung Gon, the four characters repeatedly stumble into unpredictable situations that promise plenty of laughs.

One still captures Hyun Woo frozen in shock after discovering someone collapsed in the middle of a parking lot. Another shows the TRIANGLE members staring downward with tense expressions, hinting at the start of a strange incident and suggesting that their road to reclaiming past glory will be far from easy.

“Reborn Rookie” has unveiled new stills of its key supporting characters!

“Reborn Rookie” follows Kang Yong Ho (Son Hyun Joo), the powerful chairman of the leading conglomerate Choi Sung Group, who is revered as a business genius. After an accident, however, he unexpectedly finds himself living a second life when his soul swaps into the youthful body of a soccer player named Hwang Jun Hyun (Lee Jun Young), forcing him to start over as a rookie employee at his own company.

Having stayed by the chairman’s side for years, Lee Sang Jae closely monitors those seeking to take over the company after the accident. However, he is thrown into confusion when Hwang Jun Hyun suddenly claims, “I am Kang Yong Ho.”

Meanwhile, Lee Seo An will play Na Eun Se, the eldest daughter-in-law of the Choi Sung family and the heiress of Tae Ha Group. As the strategic “kingmaker” behind Kang Jae Sung, whom she married in an arranged marriage, she does everything possible to help her husband avoid losing the succession battle against his twin sister Kang Jae Kyung.

Kwon Hae Sung will take on the role of Min Seok Do, a neurosurgeon at Hangang University Hospital and the husband of Kang Jae Kyung. JYP Entertainment has shared an update on the agency’s ongoing legal efforts to protect its artists from malicious online activity and stalking.

On May 20, the agency released a statement revealing that it has filed criminal complaints and reports against individuals who created, generated, or distributed malicious content targeting its artists both in South Korea and overseas. According to JYP Entertainment, some individuals are currently under investigation, while others have already been found guilty of violations related to defamation, sexual crimes, and other offenses.

We are conducting ongoing monitoring and taking strict legal action against various illegal activities targeting our artists.

Through fan reports, our own internal monitoring, and a dedicated malicious content monitoring system, we are detecting and collecting malicious content in real time across major domestic and international online community platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Naver, Nate Pann, Daum Café, TheQoo, DCinside, Ruliweb, FM Korea, MLBpark, Instiz, X, and Bilibili, as well as messaging platforms such as Telegram and KakaoTalk Open Chat. We are continuing to take strong legal action — including criminal complaints and civil claims — against those who create and distribute such malicious content, with a strict policy of zero settlements and zero leniency.

Based on information collected through community platforms, messaging applications, social media channels, and our ethics violations reporting system, we have filed criminal complaints and reports against individuals who created, generated, or disseminated malicious content targeting our artists. These individuals are either currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities or have already undergone serious investigation. Some have already been found guilty of violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, and other related laws, resulting in criminal fines, as well as court-ordered mandatory completion of sexual violence treatment programs, and employment restrictions at institutions related to children and youth.

Legal action against malicious content posted on overseas online platforms and against perpetrators residing abroad, is also being pursued without exception. Specifically, we are continuing to identify individuals responsible for creating such content through domestic court-ordered evidence collection procedures and overseas court discovery proceedings, and we are pursuing monetary damages — both domestically and internationally — against those whose identities have been confirmed.

In this regard, a U.S. court dismissed objections raised by the opposing party on the grounds of “freedom of expression” in relation to our discovery proceedings and ultimately issued an order requiring disclosure of information. This clearly demonstrates that using overseas platforms as a workaround to infringe upon artists’ personal rights, or attempting to justify unlawful conduct under the guise of freedom of expression, will no longer be legally tolerated.

Stalking behavior that threatens the safety of our artists and seriously infringes upon their privacy is also subject to our zero-tolerance approach. Courts have already granted temporary restraining orders against certain perpetrators, and through criminal complaints and reports, we have requested thorough investigations into additional offenses committed during the course of stalking activities. In parallel, we are pursuing civil claims for damages against such perpetrators. We are likewise actively utilizing overseas discovery procedures to pursue legal remedies against stalking perpetrators residing abroad.

As demonstrated above, we maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy, without exception, toward all illegal activities, including the creation, generation, and distribution of malicious content as well as stalking behavior exploiting anonymity. Materials already collected and preserved as evidence will continue to be submitted to domestic and international investigative authorities, regardless of whether the original posts have been deleted, accounts made private, usernames changed, or memberships withdrawn.

We make it unequivocally clear that we will continue to take strong legal action under our zero-tolerance policy against any and all conduct that infringes upon the rights and interests of our artists.

Jung Woo Sung, Bae Sung Woo, and Jung Sung Il may be starring in the upcoming film “Sal Saeng Bu” (literal title)!

On May 20, SPOTV News reported that Jung Woo Sung is currently in talks to star as Han Myeong Hoe in the film. OSEN further reported that Bae Sung Woo and Jung Sung Il recently received casting offers for “Sal Saeng Bu” and are positively reviewing them.

A representative from Jung Woo Sung’s agency Artist Company stated, “Jung Woo Sung has received an offer to appear in the film ‘Sal Saeng Bu’ and is currently reviewing it,” adding, “Nothing has been decided yet.”

The same agency, which also represents Bae Sung Woo, also shared that it is true that Bae Sung Woo had also received the script offer for the film. Jung Sung Il’s side has yet to respond to the report.

“Sal Saeng Bu” refers to a document created for political purposes to purge opposing factions. It was written by Han Myeong Hoe during the Gyeyu Jeongnan, the coup led by Grand Prince Suyang, in order to eliminate political rivals.

The film will be directed by Kim Hong Sun, known for “Project Wolf Hunting” and Season 3 of “Gangs of London.”

The character Jung Woo Sung has been offered is the historical figure Han Myeong Hoe, one of the most powerful political figures of the era who enjoyed immense wealth and influence. Han Myeong Hoe is also closely associated with the Gyeyu Jeongnan, the 1453 purge orchestrated by Grand Prince Suyang to seize power during the first year of King Danjong’s reign in the Joseon Dynasty.

Bae Sung Woo and Jung Sung Il are also reportedly set to portray major historical figures from the era.
