The upcoming film “Strange Snack Shop Jeoncheondang” (literal title) has unveiled new stills featuring Ra Mi Ran!

Based on a Japanese best-selling novel, “Strange Snack Shop Jeoncheondang” is a fantasy film about magical events that take place when customers carrying lucky coins visit Jeoncheondang, a snack store that grants wishes. The live-action film was produced in South Korea and is scheduled to hit theaters in May, followed by a 12-episode series release in the second half of the year.

Ra Mi Ran plays Hong Ja, the owner of Jecheondang, who gives special snacks to people with different worries and personal stories.

Newly released stills show Ra Mi Ran’s transformed look, featuring a grand hanbok and silver hair. With a strong resemblance to the original character and an added sense of mystery, she has a distinctive on-screen presence.

In more stills, she shows a friendly side by offering warm smiles to customers, while also showing a more human charm through her signature cheerful facial expressions.

In contrast, the mood shifts sharply in the stills where she faces Yomi (Lee Re), the owner of her rival shop Hwaangdang. Instead of a gentle demeanor, she displays a cold charisma that builds tension and teases their relationship in the story.

Behind this carefully crafted visual transformation was Ra Mi Ran’s meticulous effort. She continued filming for long hours while wearing a wig weighing about 3 kilograms and multiple layers of hanbok, and she went through an average makeup process of about 2 hours and 30 minutes each time.

Ra Mi Ran said, “Hong Ja is already a character familiar to many readers, so I felt a lot of pressure. I wanted to portray a Korean-style Hong Ja by blending my own warm and approachable image.” She continued, “The moment I stepped onto the Jeoncheondang set with silver hair and a hanbok, it felt like I had entered a fairy-tale world.”

“Strange Snack Shop Jeoncheondang” will premiere in theaters nationwide on May 29.

“The Scarecrow” has shared new stills ahead of its upcoming episode!

“The Scarecrow” follows a detective investigating a series of murders who is forced into an unlikely partnership with a man he despises. Set between 1988 and 2019, the suspenseful story tracks two men bound by misfortune and an uneasy alliance of hatred as they chase the truth across 30 years.

Previously in the drama, the truth behind Lee Ki Beom (Song Geon Hee’s) death after he was cleared of false accusations, as well as the identity of serial killer Lee Yong Woo, which had been hidden for 30 years, were revealed. While Lim Seok Man (Baek Seung Hwan), who was newly identified as a suspect, was arrested, the recently released Lee Ki Beom died on his way home. The cause of death was revealed to be organ damage and sepsis resulting from assault and torture. Moreover, the revelation that Lee Ki Beom already knew the true identity of his older brother Lee Ki Hwan (Jung Moon Sung) further heightened the tension.

In the newly released photos, Kang Tae Joo (Park Hae Soo) grabs Cha Si Young (Lee Hee Joon) by the collar and glares at him with eyes full of rage. Cha Si Young, however, stares back at Kang Tae Joo without wavering, creating a tense atmosphere.

In a previously released preview for the upcoming episode, Kang Tae Joo was seen crying out in anger, saying, “Are you even human? How could you pin those kinds of charges on me?” This raises curiosity about where the relationship between the two men—which had been going back and forth between cooperation and betrayal—is headed.

More stills show Jang Myung Do (Jeon Jae Hong) and Do Hyung Gu (Kim Eun Woo) conducting an on-site investigation for the seventh case. The photo in which they force the physically weakened Lim Seok Man to climb over the victim’s wall hints at the detectives’ excessive investigation methods. Will Lim Seok Man become another scapegoat, just like Lee Ki Beom?

The production team stated, “In Episode 8 of ‘The Scarecrow,’ the conflict between Kang Tae Joo and Cha Si Young spirals out of control following Lee Ki Beom’s death,” adding, “The investigation surrounding the new suspect Lim Seok Man will also unfold in an unexpected direction.”

Upcoming film “Wild Sing” has unveiled new stills featuring Kang Dong Won!

On May 12, the production team released stills of Kang Dong Won as Hyun Woo, the leader and dance machine of the co-ed dance group TRIANGLE on stage.

“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.

The standout feature in the newly released stills is Kang Dong Won’s bold styling. He effortlessly pulls off oversized wide-leg pants inspired by the street fashion trend of the early 2000s, along with a blunt bob with highlighted streaks.

In addition to Hyun Woo pulling off popular accessories from the era, including goggles on his head and gloves on his hands, his intense gaze and striking physique show why his character is a “fan magnet.”

Kang Dong Won’s transformation goes beyond his appearance. The production team shared that he completed about five months of intensive choreography training to fully portray his character.

In one still, Kang Dong Won shows fluid movements, as well as a high-difficulty “freeze” pose that requires him to support his body with one hand.

Choreographer Yang Wook, who worked on the performance, praised him, saying, “He understands the appeal of dance precisely. Thanks to his commanding physique, he has an outstanding ability to express movement with just subtle touches.”

Adapted from the webtoon “Morning Comes to Psychiatric Wards,” this K-drama follows Jung Da Eun (Park Bo Young), a sincere and hardworking nurse whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is transferred from Internal Medicine to the Psychiatric Department at Myungshin University Hospital. In her previous role, everything was about speed and precision. But here, she begins meeting patients with vastly different struggles, each story revealing just how layered and delicate the human mind can be.

In the beginning, the drama feels almost like a collection of individual cases. Each episode introduces people dealing with anxiety, delusions, or emotional burdens shaped by their personal lives. Inspired by the non-fiction essay “Things Left Behind” by Kim Sae Byul, the story centers on Cho Sang Gu (Lee Je Hoon), a former convict and underground MMA fighter who has grown tough, distant, and emotionally guarded. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is suddenly made the guardian of his nephew, Han Geu Ru (Tang Jun Sang), a 20-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome. Geu Ru sees the world differently. His sharp memory and quiet sensitivity allow him to notice emotions and stories others often miss. Yoon Na Mu (Hong Seung Hee), Geu Ru’s close friend and neighbor, looks out for him while also keeping Sang Gu in check. Meanwhile, the lingering presence of Geu Ru’s father, Han Jeong U (Ji Jin Hee), through flashbacks, brings a sense of comfort and reminds us of the values that shaped their work at “Move to Heaven.”

After his father’s sudden passing, Geu Ru is left on his own, and Sang Gu steps in because he has no other choice. To officially become Geu Ru’s guardian, he must live with him for three months and help run the family’s trauma-cleaning business. At first, Sang Gu treats it like just another job, clearing out belongings without much thought. But Geu Ru handles each task with care, preserving meaningful items in a “yellow box” so that the stories of the deceased can reach their loved ones.

As they take on different cases, each one uncovers deeply human stories of love, loneliness, regret, and injustice. Slowly, these experiences begin to affect Sang Gu. Through Geu Ru’s honesty and compassion, he starts to confront his own buried pain and unresolved past. What begins as an uneasy partnership gradually turns into something more meaningful, becoming a quiet, moving journey of healing, connection, and understanding.

“My Mister”

At the heart of the story is Park Dong Hoon (Lee Sun Kyun), a middle-aged structural engineer who seems calm and reliable on the surface but is quietly carrying a lot inside. His workplace is toxic, his marriage is falling apart, and yet he continues to show up every day, trying to do right by his family. On the other hand, Lee Ji An (IU) is someone whose life has been especially harsh. She lives in extreme poverty, works multiple jobs just to get by, and is constantly under threat from loan sharks. Because of everything she’s been through, she has learned to shut people out emotionally, even as she takes care of her sick grandmother.

Dong Hoon’s world also revolves around his brothers. Park Sang Hoon (Park Ho San), the eldest, is stuck in a cycle of failed business attempts and uncertainty, while Park Ki Hoon (Song Sae Byeok), who once had big dreams of becoming a film director, struggles with where life has taken him. Eventually, the two brothers come together to run a cleaning business. Their bond, along with their close-knit group of neighborhood friends, brings moments of warmth and comfort into an otherwise heavy story. 

Things take a darker turn when Do Joon Young (Kim Young Min), Dong Hoon’s boss, starts plotting to remove him from the company. At the same time, he is secretly having an affair with Dong Hoon’s wife, Kang Yoon Hee (Lee Ji Ah). Ji An gets pulled into this situation when she is offered money to spy on Dong Hoon and help set him up. She begins secretly listening to his phone calls, hoping to find something she can use against him. However, as Ji An listens in, she begins to understand Dong Hoon as a person. She hears his struggles, his silence, and the way he quietly endures everything without asking for anything in return. Slowly, her perspective changes. In him, she sees someone who understands pain without needing to explain it.

Alongside their story, the drama beautifully captures everyday life in their neighborhood. The brothers and their friends spend time together, share meals and drinks, and support each other through life’s ups and downs. After arriving at his assigned unit, Kang Sung Jae became even more bewildered when a mysterious status window also suddenly appeared before his eyes.

Things took another unexpected turn when company commander Hwang Seok Ho (Lee Sang Yi) casually assigned Kang Sung Jae to become a military cook simply because his mother runs a food truck. Suddenly thrust into the role, Kang Sung Jae began organizing ingredients under the orders of his senior Yoon Dong Hyun (Lee Hong Nae). Yoo Seon Ho is leaving “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.”

On May 12, the production team announced, “Yoo Seon Ho will be graduating from ‘2 Days & 1 Night.’ He will personally share his final farewell with viewers during the May 31 broadcast.”

During his final filming, Yoo Seon Ho described “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” as “everything from my 20s.” He added, “Traveling all over the country was a priceless experience I will never forget.”

On May 11, STARSHIP Entertainment released a statement addressing its continued legal action against individuals involved in spreading defamatory and harmful content about IVE members, including the creation and distribution of deepfake materials.

The agency stated that it has filed criminal complaints against malicious posts across various online communities and social media platforms based on fan reports and its own monitoring efforts.

We are continuously taking legal action against individuals who create and distribute malicious content targeting our artist IVE (ANYUJIN, GAEUL, REI, JANGWONYOUNG, LIZ, and LEESEO), including defamation, the spread of false information, sexual harassment, personal attacks, insults, invasion of privacy, and other forms of malicious slander.

Such conduct is clearly unlawful and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances or justified for any reason. We make it clear that we will not show leniency or make exceptions in these matters and will hold all responsible parties fully accountable to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The upcoming film “HOPE” has unveiled its first preview clip!

“HOPE” follows the story of Bum Seok (Hwang Jung Min), the head of the Hopo Port branch police office located in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). After hearing news of a tiger sighting from local youths, the entire village is thrown into a state of emergency as they encounter an unbelievable reality. The film is helmed by director Na Hong Jin, who received rave reviews for masterpieces including “The Chaser,” “The Yellow Sea,” and “The Wailing.”

The clip begins with Hopo Port police substation chief Bum Seok and local villager Sung Ki (Zo In Sung) responding after hearing reports from neighborhood youths that a tiger has appeared in the village.

Pointing toward a vague figure in the distance, Sung Ki says, “It’s over there,” while Bum Seok stares down the road and replies, “That thing happens to be dead in the middle of the street?”

Bum Seok then notices the hunting rifles carried by the local youths and questions them about the weapons. After they explain that the guns were properly registered, he orders them to come by the station later with the firearms.

The identity of the mysterious “thing” the two men are staring at is never revealed in the clip. Similarly, although the film’s exact time period has not been disclosed, the police car and Bum Seok’s uniform suggest a setting earlier than the present day.

The film will compete for the Palme d’Or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, which opens on May 12.

Following its world premiere at Cannes, “HOPE” is scheduled to hit theaters in Korea this summer.

After more than a decade since the first chapter of the webtoon “Yumi’s Cells” was published, the K-drama adaptation “Yumi’s Cells 3” has finally come to an end, and fans could not have asked for a more perfect conclusion. At the end of episode 6, Shin Soon Rok (Kim Jae Won) finally realizes his feelings for Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and confesses to her. The final two episodes become the epitome of domestic romance, showcasing Yumi and Shin Soon Rok’s dating life and the gradual evolution of their relationship from professional to deeply personal.

From Soon Rok shamelessly acting pathetic to win Yumi over to proving time and again why he is the right choice for her, here are five reasons why the “Yumi’s Cells 3” finale was perfect.

Warning: spoilers ahead!

The heart fever time

In the “Yumi’s Cells” universe, heart fever time is a state in which a person experiences an emotional energy surge so intense that they feel capable of doing anything and pursuing whatever they truly want. So, after Yumi rejects Shin Soon Rok and finds out that Jenny, the junior writer she had set him up with, reconciled with her ex-boyfriend, Yumi’s cells begin regretting the rejection.

Seeing this, Yumi’s Emotional Cell tries to trigger the infamous heart fever time. The only problem? According to Rational Cell, heart fever time has an age limit; people can no longer experience it once they cross their mid-30s. Just when it feels like Yumi and Shin Soon Rok’s story might truly be over, the scene shifts to reveal that Soon Rok is the one experiencing heart fever time instead. He rushes to Yumi’s studio on his bicycle and, while panting and gasping for air, confesses to her once again. This time, Yumi accepts him.

What makes the scene especially endearing is that this is not the first time Yumi’s Emotional Cell has attempted to activate heart fever time. In the previous season, heart fever time gave Yumi the emotional push she needed to run after Babi (Park Jinyoung). This time, however, it is Shin Soon Rok running after her. After spending three seasons watching Yumi constantly give love to others, it feels deeply moving to see her finally receive that same kind of love in return.

Yumi and Soon Rok dropping the formalities

One of the earliest conflicts in “Yumi’s Cells” involved Yumi’s crush on her coworker Chae Woo Gi (SHINee’s Minho), while another coworker, Ruby (Lee Yu Bi), also had feelings for him. In one memorable scene, Ruby subtly emphasizes Yumi’s graduation year in front of Woo Gi, indirectly implying that Yumi and Woo Gi are not suited for each other because of their age difference.

Even in “Yumi’s Cells 3,” Yumi occasionally feels self-conscious about the fact that Soon Rok is six years younger than her. In several scenes, she hesitates to even say her age out loud. However, in episode 7, when Shin Soon Rok calls her noona and asks her to drop the formalities between them, the interaction feels incredibly natural and affectionate. Yumi’s Cells practically hyperventilate every time they hear the word noona.

Watching Yumi, who has repeatedly questioned whether she was too old to pursue the men she liked, end up with someone who is almost 10 years younger and completely unconcerned about her age feels genuinely healing.

The fall of Shin Soon Rok’s Jenga tower of rules

From the very beginning, Shin Soon Rok is portrayed as a man governed by strict personal rules. He keeps his professional and personal lives separate. He does not chase coworkers in the rain. He does not share umbrellas with colleagues. He answers in short, telegraphic sentences to preserve energy. The list goes on.

But ever since he fell in love with Yumi, pieces from his carefully constructed Jenga tower of rules begin falling away one by one until the entire structure finally collapses.

Having rules and boundaries is not inherently a flaw. However, sometimes people build walls so high that their personal space becomes suffocating rather than comforting. This is exactly what Soon Rok does earlier in the season. In an attempt to maintain distance between his personal and professional life, he even asks Yumi to set him up with someone else despite his feelings for her.

That is why watching Shin Soon Rok slowly abandon the rigid rules that were only complicating his life feels like genuine character growth. It also serves as proof that his relationship with Yumi is bringing positive change into his life.

Yumi and Soon Rok’s honest relationship

One of the unspoken rules of a new relationship is simple: do not talk too much about your ex. While discussing past relationships is natural later on, bringing up an ex too early can sometimes feel uncomfortable or disrespectful to a new partner. That is exactly what worries Yumi when Babi unexpectedly enters the conversation.

Soon Rok insists on taking Yumi to his favorite tteokbokki restaurant. However, while walking there, Yumi realizes the restaurant belongs to Babi’s father. Hoping to avoid an awkward situation, she asks Soon Rok if they can go somewhere else instead. Later, he realizes the reason for her hesitation is that she used to date Babi.

Initially, Yumi worries Soon Rok might react negatively. Instead, he handles the situation with remarkable maturity and even jokes that Yumi clearly has a type: handsome men.

Knowing that Shin Soon Rok ultimately becomes Yumi’s husband, it becomes clear why she chooses him. He is emotionally mature, secure in their relationship, and confident enough not to be threatened by her past, all qualities that make him an ideal life partner.

“Yumi’s Cells 3” delivers an unbeatable climax

Since the “Yumi’s Cells” webtoon officially ended in 2020, most viewers already knew Shin Soon Rok was destined to end up with Yumi. Even so, the climax of “Yumi’s Cells 3” still manages to tug at the audience’s heartstrings.

As Yumi reveals in episode 8, she had only experienced two marriage proposals before Shin Soon Rok. The first was when she proposed to Goo Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun), only to receive no answer and eventually withdraw her proposal. The second was when Babi proposed in an attempt to save their relationship, though the engagement ultimately fell apart.

Because of this history, both Yumi and the audience feel understandably nervous when Soon Rok proposes to her on her birthday after only a month of dating. At first glance, the gesture seems impulsive. However, Soon Rok’s explanation perfectly captures why he is the right person for her. He tells Yumi that he always knew they would end up married and that he would never have chased after her if he had not been certain about his feelings from the very beginning.

There is something undeniably attractive about that level of certainty and commitment. Shin Soon Rok proves that although he is the youngest man Yumi has dated, he is also one of the most emotionally mature. He knows exactly what he wants, and he is not afraid to pursue it. After everything Yumi has gone through, she deserves someone who is completely sure about her.

While Yumi finally getting her happy ending was thrilling for audiences who have been on this journey with the female lead for years, it almost feels bittersweet to say goodbye. And even though this is the end, Yumi will surely stay with viewers—not only as a character, but also as a reminder that in life, your first love is not always your last. If you focus on continuing to grow, the right person will find you at the right time.

“Wild Sing” is a comedy movie that follows the story of TRIANGLE, a once-popular co-ed trio that fell into obscurity after an unfortunate incident. The film depicts their chaotic journey as they attempt to reunite and make a comeback.

The poster humorously shows five people facing trouble beside a stopped car that is smoking under a sunny sky.

TRIANGLE members Hyun Woo (Kang Dong Won), Sang Gu (Um Tae Goo), and Do Mi (Park Ji Hyun) are desperately trying to hitchhike. Sung Gon (Oh Jung Se) quietly shows his signature “Love You” pose from his peak years, while former TRIANGLE agency CEO Yong Gu (Shin Ha Kyun) maintains a calm facial expression in the background. Their sharply different reactions suggest that getting to the stage will not be easy.
