“KPop Demon Hunters” is continuing to make history! On August 11 (local time), HUNTR/X’s “Golden” achieved No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This notable achievement marks the ninth K-pop related song to top the Hot 100 chart, following BTS’s six group songs “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, “Dynamite,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “My Universe” with Coldplay as well as Jungkook’s “Seven (feat. Latto)” and Jimin’s “Like Crazy.” “Golden” is also the first female K-pop related song to rank No. 1 on the chart. Congratulations to the cast and crew of “KPop Demon Hunters”!
SEVENTEEN's S.Coups And Mingyu Confirm Plans For Unit Debut
Get ready for SEVENTEEN’s next unit! On August 11, Newsen reported that SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups X Mingyu will officially debut as a new unit in September. According to the reports, the two recently finished filming the music video for their title track in Los Angeles. In response to the reports, a source from PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed, “S.Coups and Mingyu plan on showcasing a unit album in September. We will inform you of the detailed schedule through an official notice.” S.Coups and Mingyu’s unit debut will mark the group’s fourth official unit following BSS, Jeonghan x Wonwoo (JxW), and Hoshi x Woozi (HxW). BLACKPINK Reported to Make Fall Comeback + YG Briefly Comments
BLACKPINK might be making a comeback later this year! On August 11, a music industry insider revealed that BLACKPINK will release a mini album this coming November. The insider also shared that the group has already completed their album jacket photo shoot and will finish recording the new songs, along with all other necessary production work, within the next two months. The insider added, “BLACKPINK has to release an album within the year. The original goal was to release it in October, but the schedule has been changed. They plan to release it in November and, if possible, perform on stage.” On the same day, in response to reports of BLACKPINK’s comeback, their agency YG Entertainment simply stated, “We will announce it later through official promotions.” If BLACKPINK’s November comeback is confirmed, it will mark their first new album since the release of “BORN PINK” in September 2022. BLACKPINK, who is celebrating their ninth anniversary this year, released the digital single “JUMP” on July 11, sweeping the top spots on major domestic and international music charts. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their highly successful “DEADLINE” world tour, consisting of 31 concerts in 16 cities. They kicked off the tour with a concert at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in South Korea. The group has successfully completed the North American leg of the tour, which included performances in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York, and they will be performing in London this week.

Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications! In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification. ENHYPEN earned two separate certifications for their latest mini album “DESIRE : UNLEASH.” The regular version of the mini album received a double million certification for over 2 million copies sold, while the Weverse version was certified platinum for 250,000 copies sold. Meanwhile, aespa received an official million certification for selling over 1 million copies of their single album “Dirty Work.” BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s first full-length solo album “Ruby” was certified triple platinum for over 750,000 copies sold since its release. The POCA version of ATEEZ’s recent mini album “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.3” was certified double platinum for selling over 500,000 copies. The SMC version of BTS’s “2025 BTS FESTA : CAPSULE ALBUM Vol.1,” CRAVITY’s “Dare to Crave,” ILLIT’s “bomb,” ITZY’s “Girls Will Be Girls,” and NCT’s Doyoung’s solo album “Soar” were all certified platinum for selling over 250,000 copies each. Monthly Album Chart TXT topped the physical album chart for the month of July with their new album “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER,” which debuted at No. 1. All of the top five albums on this month’s chart were new releases: NCT DREAM’s “Go Back To The Future” entered the chart at No. 2, TWICE’s “THIS IS FOR” at No. 3, THE BOYZ’s “a;effect” at No. 4, and BTS’s “PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LIVE” at No. 5. Weekly Album Chart THE BOYZ achieved a double crown on this week’s Circle charts, topping both the physical album chart and the digital download chart with their new mini album “a;effect” and its title track “Stylish.” TXT’s “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER,” which debuted at No. 1 on the album chart last week, dropped one spot to No. 2 this week, while FIFTY FIFTY’s “Day & Night” shot to No. 3.
