On February 17, the Korean Film Council announced that “HUMINT” had surpassed 1 million moviegoers as of 1:17 p.m. KST that day—six days since the film was first released on February 11. “HUMINT” is a spy action film that focuses on the conflict between North and South Korean agents as they investigate criminal activities near the Vladivostok border. “The King’s Warden” has reached another exciting milestone at the box office! On February 15, the Korean Film Council announced that as of 12:36 a.m. KST that day, “The King’s Warden” had officially surpassed 2 million moviegoers. The film was first released on February 4, meaning that it took just over 11 days to hit the 2 million mark. In order to celebrate the film’s achievement, the director and starring cast shared personal handwritten messages thanking audiences for showing the movie so much love. “The King’s Warden” is the first Korean film to center on the story of King Danjong (Park Ji Hoon), the sixth king of Joseon. After ascending the throne at age 12, Danjong was ultimately dethroned by his uncle Grand Prince Suyang and exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in Gangwon Province, where he met his tragic end. Set in 1457, the film follows village chief Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin), who voluntarily transforms his village into an exile site to revitalize its future, and the unexpected bond he forms with the young dethroned king. Get ready for Park Ji Hoon’s upcoming drama “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier”! Based on a popular web novel and webtoon, “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” is a military mess hall comedy drama that follows Kang Sung Jae (Park Ji Hoon), an army cook who trades his rifle for a kitchen knife and his bullet belt for an apron. As he takes on a life-changing quest, he rises to legendary status. Park Ji Hoon plays Kang Sung Jae, a newly assigned private and army cook at Gangrim Outpost. Once the top trainee in basic training, Kang Sung Jae falls from grace and becomes a soldier of concern. He then follows a mysterious voice and accepts a quest to transfer to the cook unit. Ahead of the premiere, “The Legend of Kitchen Soldier” was invited for special screening in the non-competitive section at France’s Series Mania 2026 as the only Korean content to do so. Representatives from Series Mania complimented the series for its creativity as well as Park Ji Hoon’s acting. In celebration of the occasion, TVING unveiled five different stills previewing the upcoming drama, highlighting Kang Sung Jae’s journey as an army cook.
