"The King's Warden" Surpasses 5 Million Moviegoers After Topping Box Office For 9 Days Straight

"The King's Warden" Surpasses 5 Million Moviegoers After Topping Box Office For 9 Days Straight

“The King’s Warden” shows no signs of slowing down at the box office! On February 21, the Korean Film Council announced that “The King’s Warden” had officially surpassed 5 million moviegoers after taking No. 1 at the box office for nine days in a row. “The King’s Warden” hit the 5 million mark on the 18th day of its release—two days faster than “The King and the Clown,” the first historical film ever to surpass 10 million moviegoers at the Korean box office. The movie’s pace is currently on par with “Masquerade” (also known as “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King”), which eventually drew over 12 million moviegoers during its run. “The King’s Warden” is the first Korean film to center on the story of King Danjong (Park Ji Hoon), the sixth king of Joseon. After ascending the throne at age 12, Danjong was ultimately dethroned by his uncle Grand Prince Suyang and exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in Gangwon Province, where he met his tragic end. Set in 1457, the film follows village chief Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin), who voluntarily transforms his village into an exile site to revitalize its future, and the unexpected bond he forms with the young dethroned king. Congratulations to the movie’s cast and crew!

BTS’s V Responds To Messages With Min Hee Jin Being Used As Court Evidence

BTS’s V Responds To Messages With Min Hee Jin Being Used As Court Evidence

BTS member V has spoken out regarding his KakaoTalk messages being submitted as evidence in the legal dispute between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Previously, on the morning of February 12, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Min Hee Jin in her legal battle with HYBE concerning the exercise of a put option (stock purchase claim right) valued at approximately 25.5 billion won (approximately $17.7 million). On February 20, Sports Kyunghyang reported that, according to the first-trial judgment document from the shareholder agreement lawsuit between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, the court determined that Min Hee Jin’s suspicions alleging that ILLIT had copied NewJeans constituted a legitimate expression of opinion. During the proceedings, KakaoTalk conversations exchanged between V and Min Hee Jin were revealed to have been included as part of the evidence. According to the report, V had sent Min Hee Jin a message that read, “(About how plagiarism accusations always come up and are never absent) Yeah… I know, right. I also looked at it and thought, ‘Ah, this is similar…’” Following the report, V personally addressed the matter via Instagram. Sharing a screenshot of the article on his Instagram Story, he stated: This was part of a private, everyday conversation I shared out of empathy because she was an acquaintance of mine. I had absolutely no intention of taking either side. However, I feel very taken aback that this conversation was submitted as evidence without my consent.

ZEROBASEONE And ALPHA DRIVE ONE's Agency To Take Strong Legal Action Against Malicious Posts

WAKEONE, the agency of ZEROBASEONE and ALPHA DRIVE ONE, has warned strong legal action against malicious posts. On February 20, WAKEONE released an official statement announcing that they are currently pursuing legal procedures regarding acts that infringe upon the personal rights and reputations of their artists. Hello, this is WAKEONE. First, we would like to bow our heads and express our deep gratitude to all fans who continue to send unwavering support and affection to our artists. With a heavy heart, we have been monitoring the situation in which indiscriminate malicious slander and the spread of false, unfounded rumors about our artists have been taking place across domestic and international online communities and social media. Our artists are currently doing their utmost every moment in pursuit of new growth. However, as personal attacks, including those against their appearance, along with insults, defamation, and baseless falsehoods continue to spread, deep wounds are being left not only on the artists themselves but also on the hearts of fans who cherish them. We are fully aware that protecting our artists’ (ZEROBASEONE, ALPHA DRIVE ONE) personal rights and reputations is our foremost responsibility as their agency. Accordingly, we would like to inform you that we have appointed Shin & Kim LLC and are currently proceeding with legal action against acts that infringe upon those rights. Sharing unverified information or speculative content to make speculations about or criticize specific individuals can cause serious harm to someone. In particular, we earnestly ask that you refrain from crossing the line with actions such as groundless slander, personal attacks, and the exposure of personal information. WAKEONE will continue to respond consistently and responsibly to protect our artists’ rights and interests. Thank you.
