Park Bo Gum, Joo Won, Lee Sun Bin, And More Begin Filming For New Historical Action Film
Park Bo Gum, Joo Won, Jung Jae Young, and Lee Sun Bin’s upcoming film has begun filming! “The Sword: A Legend of the Red Wolf” is a historical action film set shortly after the fall of Goguryeo. It follows a man who loses his memory and becomes a slave before entering a tournament for a legendary sword. Director Kim Han Min of the film “War of the Arrows” will take the helm. Ahead of the start of filming, director Kim Han Min and the actors gathered for an activity script reading session, practicing both the lines as well as the action choreography. Unlike a typical script reading, the activity reading functioned more like a rehearsal combining action and dialogue, adding depth to the narrative as the actors immersed into their characters. Park Bo Gum takes on the role of Chil Seong, a warrior who has lost his memory. The actor will impress with his powerful sword-fighting action as his character transforms from a slave gladiator to a hero. Joo Won plays Gyepil Haryeok (Qibi Heli), a character who opposes Chil Seong. Gyepil Haryeok is a cold warrior representing the Göktürks in the tournament, forming a fierce rivalry with Chil Seong. He will showcase fierce charisma and difficult action scenes using two swords. Jung Jae Young transforms into Heuk Su Gang, the steadfast leader of the Goguryeo restoration army, known as the Damul Army. Lee Sun Bin plays Maya, a member of the restoration army, showcasing strong determination and action. Furthermore, the cast will be joined by Vietnamese star Trấn Thành, Kim Jae Chul, Choi Gwi Hwa, Park Myung Hoon, Lee Soon Won, and more. “The Sword: A Legend of the Red Wolf” began filming on March 3. Stay tuned for updates!
Watch: NCT's Jaemin And Jeno Show Off Contrasting Charms In "Amazing Saturday" Preview
Get ready to see NCT’s Jaemin and Jeno on “Amazing Saturday”! The popular tvN variety show has revealed a sneak peek of next week’s episode, which will feature Jaemin and Jeno as guests alongside Im Woo Il and Kim Ji Yoo. Jaemin and Jeno, who recently made their unit debut as the new duo NCT JNJM, display entirely different charms in the preview. Jeno proves sharp and perceptive when it comes to the show’s games, but Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon quickly swoops in to “steal” his answers, playfully telling him, “Life is all about timing!” Meanwhile, Jaemin isn’t quite as adept at the guessing games as his bandmate. After hearing one of the quiz questions, he tells the cast members, “This is our song.” But when asked for help with the answer, he cracks everyone up by responding, “I can’t think of it right now.” Shin Dong Yup jokingly observes, “Jaemin is the one trying the hardest to figure out the right answer.”
"The King's Warden" Surpasses 11 Million Moviegoers Faster Than "Exhuma" And "12.12: The Day"
Just two days after surpassing 10 million moviegoers, “The King’s Warden” has reached another impressive milestone! On the morning of March 8 KST, the Korean Film Council announced that “The King’s Warden” had officially drawn over 11 million moviegoers. “The King’s Warden” first hit theaters on February 4, meaning that the film hit the 11 million mark on the 33rd day of its release. The movie reached the milestone at the same speed as the 2024 blockbuster “The Roundup: Punishment” (also known as “The Outlaws 4”)—and faster than hits like “Exhuma” (which took 40 days to surpass 11 million moviegoers), “12.12: The Day” (36 days), and “Masquerade” (48 days). “The King’s Warden” is the first Korean film to center on the story of King Danjong (Park Ji Hoon), the sixth king of Joseon. After ascending the throne at age 12, Danjong was ultimately dethroned by his uncle Grand Prince Suyang and exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in Gangwon Province, where he met his tragic end. Set in 1457, the film follows village chief Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin), who voluntarily transforms his village into an exile site to revitalize its future, and the unexpected bond he forms with the young dethroned king. Congratulations to the cast and crew of “The King’s Warden”!

“The King’s Warden” Becomes First Korean Film In Nearly 2 Years To Surpass 10 Million Moviegoers
“The King’s Warden” has surpassed 10 million moviegoers just 31 days after its release! On March 6, the Korean Film Council announced that the film officially exceeded 10 million cumulative viewers as of 6:30 p.m. KST, 31 days after its release on February 4. With this achievement, “The King’s Warden” becomes the 25th Korean film in history to surpass the 10 million admissions mark. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it is also the sixth film to reach the milestone. Excluding the three installments of “The Roundup” franchise, it marks the third standalone film to do so following “12.12: The Day” and “Exhuma.” The film is also the first Korean movie in about 22 months to cross the 10 million mark, since “The Roundup: Punishment” achieved the feat in May 2024. In addition, “The King’s Warden” becomes only the fourth historical film to surpass 10 million admissions, following “The King and the Clown,” “Masquerade,” and “The Admiral: Roaring Currents.” Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the film centers on King Danjong (Park Ji Hoon), the sixth king of Joseon, who is betrayed by his uncle and dethroned before being exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. There, he encounters Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin), the head of the local village, setting the story’s events in motion. The film also stars Yoo Ji Tae, Jeon Mi Do, Lee Jun Hyuk, Kim Min, and Ahn Jae Hong, among others. Congratulations to the movie’s cast and crew!
