Park Bo Gum Joins Kim Nam Gil In Talks To Star In New Historical Film
Park Bo Gum may be teaming up with Kim Nam Gil for an upcoming film! On August 14, MyDaily reported that Park Bo Gum has been offered the role of Prince Anpyeong in the upcoming film “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” (literal title). In response to the report, a representative from Park Bo Gum’s agency THEBLACKLABEL stated, “He has received an offer for ‘Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land’ and is currently reviewing it.” “Dream Journey to the Peach Blossom Land” is based on the celebrated landscape painting by Joseon-era painter An Gyeon. The painting was based on a dream of Prince Anpyeong, who visited a utopian paradise in his sleep and later described the vision to An Gyeon, who then brought it to life. The film will center on King Sejong’s sons, Prince Suyang and Prince Anpyeong, against the backdrop of the 1453 Coup of Gye Yu—a pivotal political upheaval in which Prince Suyang ousted the supporters of King Danjong to seize the throne. Upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” has shared new teasers! Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet. The first teaser captures Yeon Ji Young as she struggles to adapt after suddenly falling into an unfamiliar space. Her appearance, unlike anything seen in that era, draws wary glances from everyone around her. Even when she declares, “I’m from 500 years in the future,” no one believes her—and to make matters worse, she is dragged away by palace guards. However, Yeon Ji Young does not falter and uses her honed skills as a chef to find a way to survive. She captivates King Lee Heon by serving him royal dishes with mysterious cooking techniques and menus that were unheard of in that era. On August 14, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Heo Nam Jun recently received an offer to star in the upcoming drama “Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid” (working title) and is currently discussing the details. In response, his agency H.SOLID shared, “It’s true that Heo Nam Jun has been offered a role in the new drama ‘Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid’ and is currently reviewing it.” Based on a webtoon that reimagines Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid,” “Whale Star: The Gyeongseong Mermaid” is set in 1926 Gyeongseong (present-day Seoul) during Japanese occupation and follows the story of Kang Ui Hyeon, a man who dedicates everything to his country, and Su A, a woman who risks her life to protect him. JTBC’s upcoming Friday drama “My Youth” has unveiled the first glimpse of Chun Woo Hee in character! “My Youth” is a romance drama that tells the story of Sunwoo Hae (Song Joong Ki), who begins to live an ordinary life later than most people, and Sung Je Yeon (Chun Woo Hee), who must disrupt her first love’s tranquility for her own success.
