Kim Yo Han And Kim Dan Face Off Against Former Teammate Cho Han Gyul In Pivotal Game In “The Winning Try”

Hanyang High’s rugby team is going head-to-head with their longtime rivals in tonight’s episode of “The Winning Try”! “The Winning Try” is a new drama starring Yoon Kye Sang as Joo Ga Ram, a former rugby star who falls from grace due to a doping scandal. After he returns to his alma mater as the new coach of its rugby team, which is ranked last in the country, he leads the underdog squad on a quest to win the National Sports Festival. Spoilers In the upcoming episode, the Hanyang Physical Education High School rugby team is competing in the Presidential Cup National Rugby Championship. Their first-round opponents are none other than Daesang High, last year’s national champions. The matchup carries extra tension for Hanyang, who previously faced a crisis when their former coach jumped ship to Daesang, followed by first-year ace Kang Tae Poong (Cho Han Gyul) making the same move. But under the leadership of new head coach Joo Ga Ram, who turned that crisis into a turning point, the team has been reborn. With the addition of Moon Woong (Kim Dan), Hanyang High is now at full strength. Newly released stills show Ga Ram and his players fully charged for battle. Ga Ram lays out the game plan with commanding charisma, while the team—serious-faced and laser-focused—prepares with unwavering determination to win. Other shots capture a tense standoff between captain Yoon Sung Joon (Kim Yo Han), newcomer Moon Woong, and Tae Poong—the former Hanyang ace who defected to Daesang. Sung Joon locks Tae Poong in a fierce stare, while Tae Poong deliberately avoids meeting his eyes. Tae Poong’s guarded reaction to Moon Woong also hints at a brewing shift in the players’ dynamics. The final still shows Moon Woong charging across the field at full speed. With his raw athletic talent and rugby instinct, anticipation is running high for his first official match. Will his arrival tip the scales in Hanyang’s favor against Daesang? Find out in the next episode of “The Winning Try,” airing on August 15 at 9:50 p.m. KST!
