Chae Jong Hyeop’s Agency Issues Statement On Contract Termination For Upcoming Film

Chae Jong Hyeop’s agency has released a statement regarding the termination of his contract for the upcoming film “Turtle” (literal title). On August 13, JoyNews24 reported that Chae Jong Hyeop’s agency Blitzway Entertainment had sent a certified letter to the film’s production company Popcorn Film notifying them of Chae Jong Hyeop’s decision to terminate his appearance contract. In response, Popcorn Film, through its legal representatives, stated that “any unilateral claim to cancel or terminate the contract has no legal effect,” signaling a potential legal dispute. In a new statement, Blitzway Entertainment clarified their position, stating, “The contract for ‘Turtle’ clearly specified the filming schedule, and Chae Jong Hyeop was set to begin a new drama project after completing filming within the agreed period.” The agency continued, “However, due to circumstances on the production company’s side, the scheduled filming period passed. We confirmed that no prior consultations or approvals were made regarding changes to the filming schedule between the actor, the drama’s broadcasting channel, and the drama production team. As a result, we had no choice but to notify the production company of contract termination.” Blitzway added, “We proposed that filming for the movie take place after the drama shoot concluded, but no agreement was reached. Consequently, we issued a formal notice of contract termination. While we remain committed to resolving this matter amicably, if no resolution is reached, we will proceed with legal measures in accordance with the contract and relevant laws.”

"Omniscient Reader" Stars Switch From Intense Filming To Fun Moments On Set In New Behind-The-Scenes Photos

“Omniscient Reader” has shared new behind-the-scenes photos capturing the cast’s passionate performances and the friendly atmosphere on set! Based on the popular web novel of the same name, “Omniscient Reader” is a film that tells the story of Kim Dok Ja (Ahn Hyo Seop), who suddenly finds himself living in the world of a fantasy novel he was reading. Armed with the knowledge of what happened in the novel, Kim Dok Ja sets out to save the world from ending. Lee Min Ho stars as Yoo Joong Hyuk, the protagonist from the novel that Kim Dok Ja read. The new photos show a range of moments, offering behind-the-scene glimpses of the actors’ intense performances that brought the film to life, as well as the cheerful interactions among the cast. Despite his ongoing action sequences, a dedicated Ahn Hyo Seop prepares for his next scene without showing fatigue. He is also seen holding a bouquet of flowers and wearing a tiara with a smile. Lee Min Ho, who plays Yoo Joong Hyuk, a character who grows cynical after repeated regressions in the novel’s world, shows his deep commitment to his role through his expressions alone. Chae Soo Bin, who plays Yoo Sang Ah, is seen listening attentively to the crew’s explanations and focusing in order to not miss even the smallest detail. Shin Seung Ho, who plays Lee Hyun Sung, a dependable shield for Kim Dok Ja and his companions, is seen lifting child actor Kwon Eun Seong, whose affectionate look hints at their close bond. Unlike his character Lee Hyun Sung, who is known for his seriousness and strength, Shin Seung Ho fills the set with warmth through his friendliness and energy. When the cameras are rolling, Nana passionately throws herself into the film’s action scenes. But when the cameras stop, she playfully poses for photos with director Kim Byung Woo. Finally, the sight of Ahn Hyo Seop and Nana performing high-difficulty wire action moves inspires admiration for the actors’ commitment to their roles, while also revealing how the film was able to produce its spectacular action sequences. “Omniscient Reader” is currently showing in theaters throughout South Korea.

Won Jin Ah Battles Inner Turmoil While Dex Confronts Buried Feelings In “The Defects”

The tension is hitting its peak in “The Defects”! Based on a popular webtoon, “The Defects” is an action thriller about children who have been abandoned by their adoptive parents—and their fight for survival and revenge. Spoilers In the previous episode, the children were pushed to the brink of death by Jung Hyun (Dex). Kim Ah Hyun (Won Jin Ah) watched in horror as Seok Soo (Oh Seung Jun) died right before her eyes—an event that only deepened her burning resolve for vengeance. Meanwhile, Kim Se Hee’s (Yum Jung Ah) daughter, Kim Ah Hyun (Kim Ji An), made the bold decision to stand with the children, marking a major turning point in the story. The newly released stills show the children who miraculously escaped the flames, raising questions about how they survived such a harrowing ordeal. The images capture Ah Hyun, Ju An (Ahn Ji Ho), So Mi (Lee Naeun), and Choi Si Woo (Kang Ji Yong) breaking down in tears over Seok Soo’s death. Particularly striking is Ah Hyun’s expression: once unwavering in her vow to bring the children happiness through revenge, she now stares blankly into the distance, lost in turmoil. As doubt begins to take hold, viewers are left wondering—will she abandon her quest, or find the strength to strike back at Se Hee with renewed determination? Even Jung Hyun, who had followed Se Hee’s every command without question, begins to show signs of change. His once-cold gaze falters the moment he comes face-to-face with Se Hee’s daughter. What choice will emerge from the emotions he’s long kept buried, and how will it reshape the battle ahead? Find out in the next episode of “The Defects,” airing on August 11 at 10 p.m. KST.
