Ma Dong Seok, Seo In Guk, Kang Mina, And More Showcase Unmatched Teamwork In “Twelve”
The upcoming action drama “Twelve” has unveiled new stills highlighting the cast’s strong chemistry! Inspired by the 12 zodiac animals of the East, “Twelve” tells the story of 12 angels living in the human world in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil spirits. Long ago, the angels barely managed to seal the forces of evil in the gates of hell through their sacrifice, bringing peace. However, with the evil spirits awakening, chaos returns. The newly released stills reveal the special connection among the 12 zodiac angels. To protect humans from evil forces, eight of the angels—Tae San (Ma Dong Seok), Won Seung (Seo In Guk), Mir (Lee Joo Bin), Do Ni (Go Kyu Pil), Gang Ji (Kang Mina), Jwi Dol (Sung Yoo Bin), Mal Sook (Ahn Ji Hye), and Bang Wool (Regina Lei)—live on Earth in human form. After thousands of years together, their bond is so strong they can understand each other’s feelings just by looking into each other’s eyes. Living separately yet together within their own spheres of life, these angels’ teamwork shines even brighter when evil forces rise again. After Ogui (Park Hyung Sik), who was sealed away when the hellgate was barely closed, awakens, the angels face a massive crisis. Along with the hellgate, their special powers were sealed away, but their worries are short-lived. Their strong determination to join forces again, defeat evil, and save the world remains powerful. Their expressions—whether all staring in the same direction or having serious conversations—hint at the ominous future ahead. Notably, Mir’s absence among the gathered angels adds to the mystery. The sight of Tae San forcefully striking something with a hammer, watched by the other angels, builds anticipation for the battle these united forces will wage against evil. The cast playing the eight angels said they shared strong chemistry off-camera as well. Seo In Guk remarked, “We quickly became close with each other. Everyone worked hard, so we were able to sync up fast. There was never a shortage of laughter throughout the shoot.” Lee Joo Bin said, “Everyone was kind and energetic, so we never lost our smiles and approached the work with passion. It was a warm, cheerful set.” Kang Mina added, “Our chemistry was great, of course. Since the angels have spent thousands of years together, we had to look like a family. Trust is key to pulling off the action scenes, and that naturally brought us closer. It really feels like we became a family.” “Twelve” will premiere on August 23.
Watch: Jang Dong Yoon Condemns His Serial Killer Mother Go Hyun Jung In “Queen Mantis” Teaser
SBS’s upcoming drama “Queen Mantis” has released its first teaser! A remake of the French series “La Mante,” “Queen Mantis” is a crime thriller starring Go Hyun Jung as Jung Yi Shin, a famous serial killer nicknamed “The Mantis” who brutally murdered five men 20 years ago and has been imprisoned ever since. When a new serial killer emerges, copying The Mantis’s distinctive style, the police approach Jung Yi Shin for her assistance in solving the case. Jang Dong Yoon plays Detective Cha Soo Yeol, who must work alongside his mother—the serial killer “The Mantis”—whom he has despised his entire life. The teaser showcases the complex relationship between serial killer Jung Yi Shin and her detective son Cha Soo Yeol. It opens with the two sitting across from each other. With a cold, cynical tone, Cha Soo Yeol says to a pale-looking Jung Yi Shin, “Your hands—the ones that killed five people—are so warm.” Viewers are then shown why Cha Soo Yeol harbors such resentment toward his mother. In one chilling scene, she says, “I should have ripped apart every single part of that bastard’s body, piece by piece.” The teaser rapidly alternates between shocking scenes of Go Hyun Jung—inspecting a crime scene, smiling while committing murder, and becoming suddenly excited as though recalling the moment of killing. The relationship between the serial killer mother and her detective son is thrown into turmoil when a gruesome copycat murder shakes the city. Other officers—Choi Jung Ho (Jo Sung Ha) and Kim Na Hee (Lee El)—join the investigation. The teaser offers glimpses of the detectives’ determination to stop further killings, showing them in multiple scenes tracking down clues. The teaser ends with Jung Yi Shin smiling eerily while her son Cha Soo Yeol is condemning her, saying, “You’re a butcher who loves the smell of blood, a mantis, just a monster!” Watch the teaser below! “Queen Mantis” premieres on September 5 at 9:50 p.m. KST.

Lee Chae Min Shares Insight On His Upcoming Drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty"
Lee Chae Min has shared his thoughts on his upcoming drama “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty”! Based on a popular web novel, “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is a fantasy romance drama starring Lim Yoona as Yeon Ji Young, an award-winning French chef who winds up traveling 500 years back into the past. There, she meets despotic king Lee Heon (Lee Chae Min), who is known as the worst of tyrants—and who also happens to be a discerning gourmet. On why he chose to star in the drama, Lee Chae Min shared, “First, the theme of cooking immediately caught my interest, and Lee Heon is a three-dimensional character, so I found him very appealing. Also, since I’m a fan of director Jang Tae Yoo’s projects, I really wanted to star in the drama.” Talking about his character Lee Heon, Lee Chae Min said, “He is a dynamic figure who stirs everything up like a typhoon you can’t even approach. He has an unstable psychological state and a fiery personality, but he also has unexpected, quirky sides.” He went on to liken Lee Heon to yukgaejang (a spicy beef soup with meat and various ingredients), saying that beneath his wild exterior lies a multifaceted character with many diverse qualities. On how he prepared for the multi-dimensional character of Lee Heon, Lee Chae Min explained, “I tried to balance heavy and light tones so that the dignity and free-spiritedness that come with being a king could coexist. I also gave a lot of input on styling to highlight his intense gaze, and I worked hard to create Lee Heon’s unique way of expressing himself in each situation.” Regarding how he prepared for the action scenes, he revealed, “I newly learned horseback riding. I also received training in swordsmanship and archery on set and collaborated with the martial arts team to enhance the quality of the action scenes.” Encouraging viewers to tune in to the drama, Lee Chae Min remarked, “It offers a variety of exciting elements that blend mystery and romance through cooking.” He promised that viewers will be captivated not only by the relationship between Yeon Ji Young (played by Lim Yoona) and Lee Heon but also by the palace intrigues and power struggles that unfold. “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” will premiere on August 23 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
