On February 11 at approximately 12:35 p.m. KST, TWICE’s music video for “What is Love?” surpassed 900 million views on YouTube, making it the group’s first music video ever to reach the milestone. TWICE originally released “What is Love?” on April 9, 2018 at 6 p.m. KST, meaning that it took the song just over seven years, 10 months, and one day to hit 900 million views. IVE's Jang Won Young Makes Generous Donation To Help Pediatric And Adolescent Patients
IVE’s Jang Won Young has donated to a meaningful cause! On February 11, Severance Hospital announced that Jang Won Young donated 200 million won (approximately $137,320) to the hospital to support treatment for pediatric and adolescent patients. It was reported that she decided to make the donation in the hope of having a positive impact on the treatment and recovery of children her age and of helping them grow together in the future. 100 million won of the donation will be used for the Severance Children’s Hospital development fund, while the other 100 million won will be used for the Gangnam Severance Hospital Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine development fund. IVE recently released “BANG BANG,” a pre-release track from their second full-length album “REVIVE+.”
NMIXX To Become 1st K-Pop Artist To Perform At Brazil's Carnival
NMIXX will be performing at Brazil’s Carnival next week! Brazilian singer Pabllo Vittar has announced that NMIXX will be a special guest at Bloco da Pabllo, a massive block party at the upcoming São Paulo Carnival, on February 16. NMIXX, who will be the first K-pop artist ever to perform at Carnival, will be joining Pabllo Vittar for a performance of their collab single “MEXE,” which they released in August of last year. BTS, IZ*ONE, TWICE's MISAMO, And aespa's Karina Earn RIAJ Platinum And Gold Certifications For Streaming In Japan
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications! In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams. This month, BTS’s 2022 title track “Yet To Come,” IZ*ONE’s 2020 hit “Panorama,” and TWICE’s MISAMO’s 2024 song “NEW LOOK” were all certified platinum for surpassing 100 million streams each in Japan. Meanwhile, BTS’s 2018 B-side “Love Maze” and aespa’s Karina’s solo song “UP” were both certified gold after surpassing 50 million streams each in Japan. Congratulations to all of the artists!

CORTIS is gearing up to make the first comeback of their career in April! On February 10, BIGHIT MUSIC officially confirmed, “CORTIS is currently in the midst of preparing with the goal of an April comeback.” CORTIS’s upcoming return will mark their first comeback following their official debut in August of last year, when they stormed onto the K-pop scene with the pre-release single “What You Want.” The rookie group went on to release their debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” in September.
