Winter Fever (2026)
A fifteen-year friendship that turns into love begins to crumble when Seo Yu Jun starts believing that Kim Yeon Ho’s devotion is not love, but pity. Seeing Yeon Ho’s seemingly perfect life, Yu Jun comes to think of himself as a flaw in it and decides that Yeon Ho would shine more without him. Proud and resolute, he chooses to break up, even if it means becoming the villain in Yeon Ho’s life. Yeon Ho, raised without fear or want, becomes powerless only in front of Yu Jun. When the love he gave with his whole being is rejected, his everyday life collapses. His love twists into an obsessive desire, where keeping Yu Jun by his side matters more than Yu Jun’s happiness or pain. Into this fracture steps Baek Hyeon Seo, a senior who appears gentle but exploits their suffering. He pushes Yu Jun to use him as a way to end the relationship, quietly taking advantage of Yeon Ho’s absence. Their intertwined emotions spiral into a tragic romance driven by guilt, obsession, and manipulation. (Source: MyDramaList)

Reviews
I applaud this series for not giving the usual generic story, daring to try something else but it still used the familiar to get the point across. Yujun, feeling inferior in the relationship, decides to leave because he doesn't want to hurt Yeonho by staying. Yeonho over compensates to keep him. This alone could have made the story and delved deeper into the barriers. Unfortunately, they inserted the third party, Hyunseo, to create the distraction. Both Hyunseo and Yeonho have the same request: Stay by their side. One he doesn't love and one he loves too much. The obvious choice is glaring. A better story would have been them separating, Yujun getting a job and feeling comfortable to return the love in kind. BUT this ending was better in one regard. They chose to stay even though the dynamic wasn't perfect and issues not solved. It finally dealt with a relationship in a realistic manner. They loved each other enough to stay, set the temporary boundaries that make it habitable and will work on doing better. This felt earned. The acting was better than kost of the recent mini series but felt too concentrated. Too heavy that it became overdramatic. Still the differences made it enjoyable enough too root for their love.
This time TrueFilm surprised us with an established couple - but as it's typical with their short-stories, they have a problem communicating. You may think it's the same old same old, but it's not. It's a result of social pressure in Korea and someones inability to accept all the love he receives witout being able to give it back 1:1.In this short series (around 30 minutes without last episodes repeat) they acting was a much higher as before. Both leads did a very good job in conveing their characters, so they are very believable. There are of course some production lapses, they had to lip-sync one scene (or they did remove all other noises which made it look a bit steril). Also on-body microphones can hinder a delivery in a scene especially in an emotional scene in the finale, a boom microphone would have been the better choice. Of course they still could not get into a real bar - but I guess that's a running gag for them now 🤣 Overall this was not really entertaining, because it was not fun to watch, but it was a very good watch. Some stories don't need 10 or 12 episodes with 45 minutes to convey a story and they did nail it this time.
